Hard to get much more Duluth than the aerial lift bridge under which so much of Duluth's past has crossed. Besides, there aren't many left and they are proud of this one.

We were lucky enough to see this bridge raised. It's a site to see. It's like no other bridge I've seen.

Five openings while we visited last Friday night (and early morning) - spectacular! The canal park area was lovely, plenty of walking paths.

The Aerial Lift Bridge was fun to walk UNDER and the kids were so cute when the ducked as the cars went overhead. The schedule was very helpful as a guide to when the larger ships went through.

I've seen this bridge from a distance several times, but on this trip to Duluth I actually had a chance to get up close and personal with it. I was even lucky enough to be there when a ship came through and got to watch it go up and down right from the pier. A great, free attraction in Duluth,... More

Iconic structure in Duluth. Watch the ships come in, or watch the ice form on the bridge in the winter, or just stroll around and enjoy Lake Superior and beautiful Duluth. Seriously awesome!

We got to the site of the Aerial Lift Bridge and went through the very nice museum next to the bridge. It had lots of sea-like historical items from ships and such. You also went into a room where it appeared you were the captain of your ship. Outside, we waited for some small boats to go by. When they... More

This iconic bridge is one of the most unusual in America. We were able to get video of the bridge in action. Park Point, the area across the bridge, is very cool with dunes and lighthouse ruins. It is very close to Canal Street shops and restaurants, with reasonably priced parking. There are two lighthouse right there, and several interesting... More
