Bill was hoping for more out-of-state trains, but I found the museum fascinating. I wish I could have spent more time there.

Barbara and I were staying at the Edgewater Hotel and Waterpark in Duluth MN. We asked them of what local attractions that there are for young teenagers, our two grandkids, they mention that there was a railroad museum close by and that you could take a train ride up along the North Shore line. We asked our grandkids and they... More

This was worth the time and money. If you like railroad history this is a great place to see it! It is amazing to see how much we have changed and how much work it was to keep everything moving. We really enjoyed it, along w/ the train ride it was a great way to spent most of the day!

We stopped here after taking the North Shore Scenic Railroad trip to Two Harbors. The Museum is located at the same place where you board the train. I am not a railroad or train buff by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought this was great. You can get on a number of vintage, restored trains. Around the whole... More

Took my 3 year old son and boyfriend here and they had a blast! They had fun going on to the trains and exploring. It was a little difficult trying to keep the 3 year old off things he wasn't suppose to go on but there was so many other things he could go on. Would definitely go back to... More

The museum was very good and would interest more than just the railroad buffs, There are numerous trains on display and have a very large display of railroad china, after visiting the Illinois Railroad Museum in Union, IL I was a little disappointed with the number of trains on display, but it was still worth the trip. We took the... More

This is an incredible building (national historic register) and the Railroad Museum is one of the top two in the country. The old six track train depot makes the past come alive. Shops are presented as they might look from the era and the most incredible collection of behemoth steam engines and different types of railroad cars and equipment take... More

Let me start by saying that whenever my family goes on a camping trip, we always work in a train related destination. We've been to many train museums and on a few train rides. The Lake Superior RR Museum was an average experience for my family (wife and four kids under 8). My 8 year old loved it (he's the... More

Less than I expected after special I saw on PBS. Kids had fun, though, climbing on the trains that were open (too few). Storefronts were interesting.

We went here after the Lester River train ride and it was fun seeing all the historic rolling stock as well as the short film & the china display..it really was a different time back then! We did get an extra bonus and that was watching them bring a rail car inside the building housing the museum ...talk about tight... More
