Wonderfully restored railway items to view in historic Train Depot. Excellent visual pictures of early train travel on Lake Superior/Duluth area. I encourage you to take the trip to Two Harbors on the old train. A fun trip, beautiful scenery, and an interesting stop over at Two Harbors.

This is an eclectic batch of different museums inside this refurbished depot. The basement houses the best of all. There are many trains, and shop windows with period things to look at. Other rooms have memorial (war) items, some modern art, a brief display on logging, and some art. I liked the immigrant info

This museum is located in the historic Union Depot. If you love trains, history, or are a kid at heart, this is worth the visit. Climb aboard a locomotive, walk through a dining car, peek into the store windows of the pretend town, or play a game like “I Spy” or “Find the Hobo Signs”, whatever you do, it will... More

Even if you are not a RR fan, you will find something of interest. There are exhibits of model trains, unusual full size engines/cars, area history, RR china, etc, etc. You can go thru many of the cars. I am from CA and liked this museum better than the one in Sacramento. As a bonus, your admission includes an immigrants... More

While visiting Duluth for the day we stopped at the Duluth Depot first. The museum is on the bottom area and there were many trains and cars as well as a little village area. The North Shore Railroad wasn't running yet but there was still plenty to see even some things outside as well. Many of the cars and locomotives... More

What an overload of sights...there was nearly not enough time to explore all of the sights. there were several train cars and artifacts to go through. I thought there were things they could have done to make it more entertaining and educational. There were no employee's around to talk about any of the items which was disappointing as well as... I loved this place. We had only two hours, but I could have spent all day there. Lots of engines and cars spanning a hundred years of train travel, with charming displays, plenty of history, video etc. As good or better than the Sacramento train museum, and worth going out of your way to see.

Northern Minnesota was built by trains. Trains brought the Iron from the mines that built America. These are the trains that did it. Lots of trains to look at, go in, and ride. You will see some of the largest train engines ever built. This is a must see destination for Train Buffs, and just about everyone else young and... More
