This is an incredible building (national historic register) and the Railroad Museum is one of the top two in the country. The old six track train depot makes the past come alive. Shops are presented as they might look from the era and the most incredible collection of behemoth steam engines and different types of railroad cars and equipment take... More

Let me start by saying that whenever my family goes on a camping trip, we always work in a train related destination. We've been to many train museums and on a few train rides. The Lake Superior RR Museum was an average experience for my family (wife and four kids under 8). My 8 year old loved it (he's the... More

Less than I expected after special I saw on PBS. Kids had fun, though, climbing on the trains that were open (too few). Storefronts were interesting.

We went here after the Lester River train ride and it was fun seeing all the historic rolling stock as well as the short film & the china display..it really was a different time back then! We did get an extra bonus and that was watching them bring a rail car inside the building housing the museum ...talk about tight... More

This museum is very well organized. It lets you know the main points of interest and it embraces the culture of the era by adding historic store fronts which is a great touch. If you want to hear details on a topic there are several on demand movies that you can watch on 20" LCD screens. This is very mature... More

My wife and I brought our two kids to the rail road museum and they are 5 and 6. They were totally impressed with everything was such a total surprise to them. We also took the train ride and they just loved that. If you have around three hours and want to show your kids a wonderful time, this is... More

Great place to explore while waiting for the Friday night pizza train. Whether you want to see the trains or the china, there is something for everyone. Be prepared to climb stairs, as you will need to do to get an up close look.

Was here for a holiday themed wedding. Beautiful building and really fun for families to check out the old trains. If you have time and can make it, schedule a train tour - they are awesome and great sight seeing of the North Shore. Support this great addition to Duluth!

We have been here several times. My son is a big train fan, so he has loved stopping here since he was a little kid and even now as a teen. The displays are great. Just a great stop while in Duluth. I suppose if you don't like trains it might be boring since it is pretty much trains, but... More
