Description: From the moment you see your beautiful, gleaming, black Daimler arrive to...
From the moment you see your beautiful, gleaming, black Daimler arrive to collect you, you just know this day is going to be special. Have a brief chat with your guide, John Baldwin, about the wines you love, the wineries you have to see, where you have already been, and then leave it to this passionate local to personally tailor your tour just for you. These rare 1962 Daimlers can seat up to 8 persons when required, but it is really special to be the only two in the vast back seat of these historic vehicles (used in royal tours of the sixties). Premium wine tastings, sumptuous restaurant lunches with wine, afternoon tea at Maggie Beers Farm Shop are all included, plus free collection and return to your Barossa accommodation. John seems to know everyone, and he loves to share his local knowledge and close friendships which he has formed with the winemakers, with all who tour with him. You can visit the large iconic wineries such as Penfolds,Jacobs Creek and Seppeltsfield or be introduced to the smaller boutique wines at Torbreck, Rockford, Charles Melton and Charles Cimicky, to name a few. A Barossa tour begins at 10am and finishes at 5pm. Adelaide pickups are available (at extra cost) and begin at 9am and finish at 5.30pm. A modern 7 seat Mercedes is also available for tours to the Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale and is used for the Adelaide accommodation or Airport pickups.

John was an incredibly knowledgable guide and great company. His car is sensational and we felt like superstars being driven around for the day. This is the tour you should do if you love wine, want to know more and are keen to go to the best places no matter whether they are on the map or not. We couldn't... More

Brilliant tour of the Barossa, with johns extensive knowledge of the area being a huge bonus. Great old dame to tour with, the car is fantastic and is built to give great views of the surrounding country side. Good balance of the Barossa from larger commercial facilities rough to the newer vineyards. And a great lunch, highly recommended.

We have taken a a tour with John twice now and can't wait for our next! Each time we feel learnt so much about wine and the Barossa and feel as though we have gotten the 'inside word' and treated like a local. John's depth of wine knowledge (and gentle encouragement) has opened us up to new experiences and made... More

John was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed learning about the Barossa and Mclaren Vale and everything the regions have to offer. More importantly we loved the food and the wine. John was an exemplary host and getting driven around in the 1962 Daimler capped off a great weekend. Hopefully we can come back for a visit again soon and... More

Our driver/owner, John, the man's, warmth and knowledge of wine, the Barossa area and wineries blew our minds and warmed our hearts. My girlfriend arranged a New Year's Day Barossa Valley wine tour.....and I can't imagine a better way of experiencing it than with Barossa Daimler Tours. John arrived in a black 1962 Daimler and proceeded to drive us around in style. With only 8 wineries open, his local knowledge and expertise came to the fore as we were offered some amazing... More

Thank you to John and Libby for organising and tailoring the 1 day tour of Barossa for us. John collected us in Adelaide and we drove up in a modern vehicle meeting Libby with the Daimler in Barossa. John is clearly very passionate about cars, bikes and most importantly Barossa wines. He is very professional and brought to 4 Barossa... More

So glad you had a great day out with John and were able to enjoy the beautiful Adelaide Hills along the way before arriving in The Barossa for your wine tour. The Daimlers are very comfy... and rare in Australia, but even more rare in the UK. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. More

Simply an amazing day with John, we were entertained all day by John's friendly nature and knowledge of both local history and the wines. The day was filled with once in a lifetime opportunities, with our no. 1 highlight being the tasting and tour at Seppleltsfield. We would recommend the tour to anyone, and next time we're in the Barossa... More
