The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is both a beautiful park and an educational facility. We recently visited for the tulip display which was wonderful. They will soon be replaced by a huge assortment of annual flowers but there are also perennial gardens, hosta glens, wildflower trails, water features, and other endless varieties of gardens. There are also exhibits of... More

Visited the Arboretum over Memorial Day weekend, the main attraction: Lego art! What a unique way to spend some time outdoors, nice to stroll thru the beautiful gardens and look at some creative larger than life (in many cases) Lego creations. We arrived late in the day and kind of rushed thru gardens, spending about 2 hours there. It would... More

Have visited in the spring, summer and fall. Love the variety, the walking trails, streams, and special events they hold there - especially enjoyed the traveling play performed at several spots on the grounds. Nice cafe in the visitor's center. About 15 min. from another interesting spot - Big Stone Mini-Golf and Sculpture Garden by Minnetrista. Took friends from the... More

What a spectacular place to visit, although we came here in the early Spring, and the weather was all over the place, that did not deter us in the least. The blooms were out early due the mild temperatures for the year. Trees were in blossom, Cherry trees, looked splendid, and the boarders of tulips were everywhere in their wonderful... More

Today was my second trip to the mn arb. My first trip to the arb was in the fall of 2014 and on a weekend. I got to say the colors were beautiful in the fall. There was a gathering in the gardens but definitely not as busy as it was today. From the long turn line on county 5,... More

This is one of my favorite places in the Twin Cities. Any time of the year you can fine warmth, peace, and flowers. During the non-snow months I love to walk the miles of trails and enjoy the flowers, trees, gardens, and just the peacefulness of it all. During the snowier months the outdoor trails are still accessible if you... More

I must say the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum nearly lacks description. The name obviously sets the stage, however you must experience first-hand the breadth and depth of this natural arrangement. I would plan for at least 90 minutes to preview a mere glimpse of what there is to take in. My preference would be to spend a full day in order... More

This place is spectacular. On a warm, sunny spring, summer or fall day, it's one of the most beautiful places in the metro area.

A gem in the MSP area, spacious grounds, spectacular color in season. Great place for senior and prom photos.

This can be a drive through destination, a walk through destination or a combination of both. We did a drive and walk combination -- but it could have been drive and wheel-chair or walker. The guest center is inviting and there is often an art exhibit featuring native plants and animals. Don't be distracted by the drive time, it is... More
