My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Arborteum. We loved the various plants, glass sculptures in the flowers, the rose garden, the walking paths, the indoor exhibits. The arboretum is large, many acres. There are paths leading out from the main exhibits that you can walk for 3 to 4 miles. There are shortcuts back to the... More

While you should come here with your walking shoes on, they have many others travel options as well. From the Visitor Center you can catch the Trumpet Creeper Tram. The tram offers a 55 minute narrated tour that is well worth the $3. I would highly recommend you start with this tram and then go on foot. While still talking... More

My wife's aunt and uncle have a membership there so we checked it out. Lots of places to hike. There were lots of people there but I did not feel crowded. Unique displays, they had two weddings going on and we explored lots of gardens. Could easily spend a few hours there and not see it all. I saw things... More

Probably can best sum up by saying that I wish I'd had two or three days to really fully explore the place.

Our family has enjoyed the Arboretum many times - it is beautiful any time of year. Also, we have had many Cubscout outings - they do a great job of educating the kids.

The admission to the arboretum is $12 but if you have AAA it is $11. If you pay $12, you may return for free for the next 30 days which I thought was really nice. The visitors center is spacious and has quite a large gift shop. There is a butterfly exhibit for $3 but we chose not to see... More

On weekends, there's a wait to be admitted to the parking lot, and, unless you arrive early, you will park far and downhill from the Visitor Center. Very large place; a lot of walking. Gorgeous gardens; plants well labelled; some exotic plant species I've never seen before. We visited on a particularly hot day in July and tired very quickly.

We are holding our annual meeting at the Arboretum and what a great place it is. The place has an amazing atmosphere and the staff has been incredibly attentive to our needs. We started our day with a garden tour & I can't think of a better way to start a meeting day. The meals were unlike any I have... More

Our family had anniversary photos taken last Saturday (hot and humid) and then walked around for an hour. I would advise to go early on a Saturday (or go another day) as the place was jammed. there were people setting up for 3 or 4 weddings with and people taking wedding pictures, numerous tram tours and hordes of people which... The Arboretum is one of the best I've visited if you like plants, flowers, or special exhibits. We saw "Nature in Glass" by Craig Mitchell Smith while there and it was spectacular. Glass sculpture placed at various locations within the Arboretum grounds. The flowers were mostly in bloom with a gorgeous selection, especially from this far up North. Visited the... More
