We drove around Mille Lacs Lake, whose area is 200 sq miles, with one of Ron’s high school friends (who lives in Albert Lea, MN). They came up for a few days to join us to fish. We had thought it would be hot but it was pouring rain today so we drove all around the lake. It really is... More

The bass fishing was great, lots of northern too. Can't keep any walleye right now but that doesn't stop them from biting. Launch was very fun, beautiful day.

We enjoyed our stay on Mille Lacs (French for thousand lakes). The weather wasn't great but the walks were delightful. Our resort wasn't on the lake so we weren't able to enjoy all the aspects of it. We were told by all the locals that the fishing, especially the ice fishing is fantastic. Unfortunately there is currently a ban on... More

We have a cabin on the east side of Mille Lacs Lake and the sunsets are amazing. Nice clear water and an awesome sandy bottom. Very shallow - can walk out for about two blocke.

Although Mille Lacs has many resorts and area attractions the DNR has limited Walleye catch to ONE. The walleye is the drawing card for fisher-persons! I drove around part of the lake and it was deserted and very few boats launched. The Casino is great....

Mille Lacs Lake is in central Minnesota, and is worth a trip to see. The lake is so large that you can't see across it! Crystal clear water.

The way the ice fishing village is setled with its roads and cars it's a very special view for a southern and a incredible exprience for some one to make pass with your car over the frozen lake, arrive to a refuge, and fishing on the soil of "your home" it's an expericne that should be done by any person... So many ways to enjoy this majestic lake. Driving along side on 169 gives you a view. Walking along gets you somewhat more in touch. Fishing is a great way for some. The reality is that this is a very beautiful, majestic place that has served thousands and thousands of people for food and recreation, for hundreds of years.
