The garden has the perfunctory stone lantern, curved bridges, and windy creek, and trees, and flowers. It is a lovely quiet spot if it is not too crowded with visitors. It is a relatively small place, built out of the marshes of Normandale Lake. The garden is on the campus of Normandale Community College in Bloomington Minnesota. There is no... More

This is a very peaceful, quiet garden. Open to the public, and FREE! Authentic Japanese Garden. It is behind the Normandale College, tucked away in its own little world.

Normandale Japanese Garden is a hidden gem. Situated behind Normandale College in Bloomington, it is a beautiful example of Japanese design and a lovely place to release the cares of school or work in a small world of tranquility. With it's koi pond, waterfall, bridges, willows, cherry trees and Japanese-sculpted evergreens, it fully executes the vision of Takao Watanabe, a... More

I do not know the adjectives that would express the peace and warmth that flowed into the souls of most of our group (few couples). This is probably a typical Japanese garden setting, but this one has a moving aura that none of us could define. Picture yourself stepping through a portal into an Eden-like setting where time stood still... More

A nice size Japanese garden.. Nice pond with coy in it, nice Japanese style structures, good trees and plants. Hidden behind Normandale College. Worth a visit if you like this type of garden.

Beautiful and serene Japanese gardens. The pond has many large Koi, there is a waterfall, numerous Japanese sculptures. The landscaping is very pretty. Felt like I was in Japan.

The beauty of nature was very evident even though it was early spring and the trees hadn't woken from the winter sleep. I have also visited in the summer and it is beautiful. I highly recommend it for a quiet stroll or just to sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer!
