Last spring for some reason I thought about studying Swedish and did a web search to see where they might be taught. That's how I stumbled upon the Concordia Language Villages. Operated by Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, the Language Villages are actually north of Bemidji, surrounding a large portion of a lake. They say "Villages" as there are several... More

7 and 9 year olds had a great time and can't wait to go back next year. With two kids, specially younger kids, it was much cheaper ($470 vs. $2000) to do a day camp and just pay for a hotel for everyone - we parents enjoyed the area during the day for mini-vacations. Will consider resident camp when they... More

Both children have attended camp here, and love it! My daughter is now a counselor there. It's worth every penny!

Our 12 year old son attended the German Language camp, Waldsee, this year. He had a marvelous time and added greatly to his German skills both in speaking and writing. The community is great and supportive and fun.

My daughter attended CLV (Concordia Language Villages) for two summers in order to complete high school language requirement. She chose Les Voyageurs -- a wilderness immersion experience which focuses on the history, culture and impact of the French Voyageurs in Minnesota. For her, the combination of canoeing, camping, cooking, and conjugating was perfect. We returned this summer for I-Day --... More

I cannot say enough about Concordia Language Villages! My daughter attended the Finnish day camp and is able to understand and speak so much after just a week! The whole experience has been awesome, and we're definitely doing it again!

My daughter went to the Mandarin camp (actually in Callaway, MN, as opposed to Bemidji) for the first time this year at age 9. She loved it! The camp was very accommodating and the counselors were great. She got a real feel of the culture. From a language standpoint, she really got into it. When she got back to school... More

I went into Waldsee thinking that this was going to be a good experience for me. I thought that I would be immersed in the German language, meet new friends, and most of all have fun. None of those things ended up happening, and the whole camp was a complete disappointment. I was also unhappy by the way that the... More
