This hidden 'Gem' is just outside Fort William just over the Caledonian Canal. They have a wide selection of fossils, gems and other precious stones. They also offer a wide range of very reasonable gifts. If in Fort William make sure you give this place a visit. Highly recommend.

a good place to bring the kids on an wet afternoon in fort william (and there are lots of wet afternoons in fort william), they have some impressive displays and a rather good gift shop.... who sell interesting items.... rather than the usual tat that seems to be everywhere in Fort William

The exhibits are interesting and some are just impressive. But even walking through slowly we were at the exit in 30 minutes and felt the admission was a bit on the high side for that time.

This is such an interesting place to visit, wonderful for children and adults alike, and a boon if the mist falls a little heavily ... Really worthwhile, and a good range of gifts to buy too.

My wife an I visited here in September 2014. It is just a few miles from Fort William. The outside does not give anything away. I was taken aback by the colours and sounds inside. So many gemstones on display. Minerals and fossils too. Inside it is dark and all the exhibits are lit up to show them at their... More

My party of four decided to visit the Treasures of the Earth as we all love minerals. It was a very interesting experience. The items (natural stones, man-cut jewels, minerals of all sizes and shapes) were displayed in cabinets lit up by spotlights, like in some jewelleries, which stood out all the more as the rooms were plunged in semi-darkness.... Excellent shop for gems, crystals, jewellery, fossils... Spent a large part of my budget here, for myself as well as Christmas presents. Staff very helpful and patient. Lots of minerals on display as well. Easy to get to from Fort William, just across the bridge and up the street. Highly recommend as an inexpensive place to get some wonderful quality... More
