Great trails, tons of snow, friendly staff. Missing one thing!

My favorite in the UP/Midwest. Friendly staff, continued improvements on the facility itself (new updated baths at the Base Bar (Red Dog). Grooming operators are magicians.

Went to Indianhead Mtn for a day of skiing. What a waste. Not only were the lift tickets overpriced, we only had half a hill to ski on! When we asked about access to some of the others runs we were told that of course they were open, all we had to do was WALK to them, and then ski... More

Indianhead would surely get five stars if it only had one or more high speed quads! The chairs are very slow and outdated but this is my only issue with this otherwise wonderful ski resort in the UP! The resort is set where the resort is at the top of the hill and trails lead down to any number of... More

Indianhead is simply the best skiing in Big Snow Country. The magic carpet provides a comfortable, private place to learn, and the long, well-groomed green, blue and black runs provide variety and challenge. Now merged with Blackjack, with a single lift tic that works for both resorts and a free shuttle in between, I'd recommend you spend your ski time... More

I've tried all of the ski areas in the Upper Penninsula and I prefer to ski at Indianhead. The runs suit me perfectly as an advanced/intermediate telemark skier. The Chippewa Trailside condos are very nice too.

I went to Indianhead 22 years ago as part of Ski Down Cancer. Nothing has changed...Nothing. The bar at the base of the hill is exactly the same but the food is worse. $28.50 for 4 cold hot dogs and beverages seemed excessive given the lack of up dating and generally poor service everywhere. Extensive deferred maintenance everywhere we looked.... More

Don't get me wrong, Indianhead has a lot to offer, they just need to update things. We recently went skiing for 3 days. We had done Indianhead before so we thought we'd try Big Powderhorn first to compare. We had a good time at both, but decided that BP had more comfortable (beautiful lodge, nice staff). We would have skied... More

Our family group of 18 had a great day! Got there at 8:30 and that seemed just early enough to beat the rush on a Sunday. Our little ones had a great 1/2 day at the "Kinderschule" which is a daycare/ski school, the lady running it was extremely nice and comforting to the preschool-kindergarten age kids (even borrowing a scarf... Haven't been here in ages but wanted to mention that it was one of our families best skiing areas back in the late 60's! great area for vacationing too. If you like snow it's great! And a lot of good fishing, camp sites and even a few old mines in the area to visit in the summer months!
