This is the best venue for watching a movie in Traverse City. It's sister theater, the Bijou is very good also. It's a throwback to theaters from the past where creature comforts weren't taken for granted - and the decor reflects it. Watching a movie... More

This is a great theater in the middle of downtown Traverse City. Very interesting movies (and simulcast Met Opera), wonderful renovation with comfy seats, best popcorn - and popcorn prices, and a terrific volunteer staff! Shopping and wonderful restaurants just out the door. What's not to like?!

Go back in time and enjoy a one screen movie from the balcony of this amazing place. It is a must go, relax and kill 2 hours of your day to enjoy a movie as you did when you were young

Watch a top rated movie & savor the wonder of Traverse City's best little movie theatre... no need for big box theaters! Yes, the State is amazingly beautiful. Everyone smiles and is polite. Can't beat the service. Can't beat the quality of the Movies either! Enjoy:)

Lovely restored theatre in the town which is run by volunteers and has just one movie screen. Prices are reasonable and it has good comfortable seating. Great way to see a film!

It's been 50 years since a theatre has been so magical. Michael Moore has been an inspiration to this town!

This is the home theater of Michael Moore's Traverse City Film festival. He chose the memory foam seats , as well as the Retro design to make this one of the most attractive movie houses in the US. The selection of films covers a wide spectrum of Arthouse films, independents, foreign, docs and community relevant films/events. You will not see... More

If you prefer an old style theater that is in top-top shape and even offers popcorn and soda at so much more reasonable prices, this is the place you want to go in Traverse City. They play a wide selection of films, from independents to new releases, and even cheap weekend kid's flicks and free screenings of special events like... More
