Due to the made in Michigan oversized seats, the star lit ceiling, the extra large screen and the wonderful volunteers that keep this place going year after year, this renovated art deco theater is the most comfortable and relaxing place to watch a movie. P.S. Free popcorn on Tuesday nights!
If you're in the mood for a great movie-going experience, you have to check out the State Theater. Comfortable seats, killer sound system, reasonably priced and tasty concessions. There is no better movie theater anywhere. Plus, lots of good restaurants right nearby.
I've seen some wonderful independent films here, they offer a nice variety of new and classic films. The building itself is a perfectly restored little hometown theater with a great atmosphere. I check their schedule every time I head to Traverse City!
