The casual atmosphere and easy access to many unique shops is a real plus. It is even quite pleasant to shop in the winter even though you are going in and out of stores. The mix retail, restaurants and entertainment is also a benefit.

Locally-owned shops, a movie theater, restaurants -- this is the downtown of my youth, but which you seldom see anymore. What a delightful way to spend an afternoon.

Lots of cool shopping and stores: clothing, jewelry, restaurants, trendy shops, unique stores, breweries, deli's....

For a full day of shopping, just park in one of the parking structures, and don't feed the meters all day long. Bring with you a suitcase on wheels or a bag on wheels designed for shopping, and your best pair of comfortable walking shoes. There are so many great stores, some chain stores and some just unique, original and... More

Enjoyed the town's people and different shops. The lake was nice to see as well. Just need to have a lot of change to feed the parking meters. Loved seeing people with their dogs.

Traverse City has managed to maintain its small friendly town atmosphere and attract stores and restaurants more often found in big cities. A stroll down Front Street from Franklin to Division will offer food trucks at Little Fleet, coffee at Morsels, cherry products at Cherry Republic, olive oil at Fustini's, a restored Opera House, glorious views of West Bay as... Front Street has something for everyone. There are quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants lining both sides of the street. Many offer one of kind items from local artists. The State Theater deserves a review of its own, of course. Don't miss Moomers Ice Cream, Haystacks, Nest, and Miner's North. Easy to spend an entire day browsing.

We like to visit Traverse City at least once a year. We used to frequent the Petosky/Harbor Springs area which is very nice, but after a trip to the other bay area for a soccer tourneyment, we decided we really liked it. Touring the vineyards is a highlight for the area, there are many to sample from. But Front St.... More

This is a must if you're in Traverse City, especially if the weather is nice. Every king of shop and shopping you can imagine. It is definitely that small town old style feel. Restaurants, bars, snack, treats, and traditional shopping.
