Front street has something for everyone. Some gourmet, some cheesy, literally and figuratively. Often street music and sometimes in the street bands. Expect many tourists from July on through Labor Day but the fall and winter months are delightful.

Recently, in order to avoid the onset of cabin fever and subsequent Winter Blues, my wife and I ventured into Downtown T.C to get out of the house and take in some of the many fun activities that Downtown T.C. has to offer. Our evening begin at the Mackinaw Brewing Co. for their famous Walleye and Whitefish Dinners (using our... More

Front Street is the cornerstone of TC. Sure there is are plenty of other places to visit. But if you come/visit TC and don't stroll down Front Street and plan to spend a few hours, you'll miss the best TC has to offer

Front Street in Traverse City is simply the best of small town America. They have retained their local character and charm. Front Street, and the entire downtown area, located off of US 31 on the south side of Grand Traverse Bay, is packed with unique and local general store's, Nolan's Tobacco Shop and Bar for pipe smoking afficionados, awesome cafes... Traverse City is the kind of place you find a reason to go there. And I manage to many times a year. My latest visit SHOULD have been a winter wonderland time, but Michigan's weather decided not to have snow this year for Christmas. Front street is beautiful no matter what season it is. Plenty of things to do, with... More

Traverse City Michigan has it's own "economy" and thrives even when the rest of the country is not. The people of TC also support their "mom and pop" and locally owned shops which is what Front Street is full of. Stores, restaurants, bakeries, coffee and candy shops...you name it. A great selection of Michigan made products as well. Visit local... More

We visited over New Year's, and especially loved our time downtown on New Year's Eve waiting for the CherryT ball drop. Everything was lit up and decorated for Christmas...so pretty at night!

Was a ton of fun to walk down front Street and see all the shops. Unfortunately we didn't find out until the last day that the meters no longer need quarters after a certain time. Was great fun though!

Front Street combines traditional Main Street with eclectic features more often found on the East or West Coasts to create a shopper's paradise. A must visit for any trip to TC.
