A visit to Front Street is always fun...whether you're going to look for T-shirt souvenirs, personal clothing shopping, a visit to Cherry Republic for their fantastic products or just a stroll with the dogs, it is always great!

Thought this would be fun for the wife but we walked by most of the shops. Even the train and toy store had limited selection. But if you have nothing better to do in this town with fantastic natual stuff then go for it.

Oh my, make sure you visit Folgarelli's Deli on Front street when you visit TC. The sandwich offerings only begin to describe this jewel of a stop. Downtown Traverse City is Front Street. It's easy to get to, abundant parking (garage, street, or lots behind the buildings) and very walkable for couples, families, and groups of people has it has nearly everything to satisfy everyone's tastes from bookstores, coffee shops (no Starbucks; and minimal chains (subway/coldstone?) brewery, lunch spots, great dinner choices, souvenir shops and toy shops.... Plenty of stores to browse in, great restaurants. If someone gets tired of shopping, there's the Bay as a diversion for children or the brew pubs for a refreshment and people watching.

This is a rare exception to downtowns now of days - a busy downtown, There never seems to be a weekend when there isn't something going on. There is a wide variety of resturants and with corrisponding price ranges. For shoppers a diversity of stores.

What a treat. Friendly, safe, bustling and Quaint. This is what Downtowns should be - and once were. Fun. The State Theatre anchors one end and the Opera House the opposite end. You can spend hours beyween.
