So, who wants to pay top dollar to stay in Traverse City during the summer months?? This is a very affordable way to stay in Traverse City. We had no issues with the campground. There is an excellent meat market/deli very close to this park on the same side of the road.

Discovered Traverse City State Park has a cottage. Had it reserved for weekend of my nephews wedding in Leland. Cottage had linens and bedding provided so made a great way for our married children and us to lodge together after wedding. The cottage had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and. Full kitchen. It was clean but a well used, carpets... More

It is not for those who like to do 100% camping, but a great spot for those who are vacation on the inexpensive side in a very touristy spot. Over 400 sites and like all other State parks, a safe haven especially when camping with children or alone. Right next to M31, main road to all kinds of interesting history... More

If you like mostly small RV lots, mostly dirt, and extremely tree covered and dark lots, and the camping area next to a major state highway where the only way to the beach is via a pedestrian bridge-- this is the place for you. Unfortunately, if you want to stay in a state park within 20 miles of TC. This... More

Spent 2 nights here. The staff and rangers were very helpful and caring. Lots to do in town and at the beach across the street. Plenty of restaurants very close by.

Cheap getaway across from the state day beach in Traverse City.Been going there for years . Won't break the bank to stay there and the camp ground is along the "Tart Trail" for those who like to jog, walk or bike. And the overpass to the beach makes it safe to cross the road with out fear of being hit.

Having camped here over the years, it has always been one of our favorites. We enjoyed our visit as always this time around, too. However, the campground seems more crowded than it has before-though I know this is not true. Just seemed packed to the gills, and there were a number of empty lots on an August weekend. Not many,... We camped here for the night to save money on a hotel. The campsite is very crowded and has little privacy. The workers were very nice though.

Perfectly located near the water and not far from downtown Traverse City. A hike to some of the more well known spots, so a car would be needed.....but also not far from major bike trails circling the city.
