My husband and I stayed here and loved it. The bath houses are well maintained and the water temp and pressure in the showers are perfect. We will be back there again this summer during the TCFF.

This a nice state park but is located within Traverse City. Campsites on the north side of the park are adjacent to one of the busiest roads in the city. Campsites on the south side do not have traffic noise and are adjacent to a paved bike trail that runs for miles. There is beach access to a nice Lake... More

I've been camping in an RV before but never in a tent at a state park. I went here for the first time and feel in love. I plan on going back for sure. Park is across from the beach, theres a sky walk to avoid the traffic, your close to everything as far as shopping, dining and more beaches.... More

We were there in the fall so it wasn't crowded but the views are fantastic from the beach. You have to pay to get in and park during the summer months or you can walk or bike in for no charge. There was no one there to collect the entrance fee during the week in October.

We enjoyed early evening strolls on the beach and spent some time just sitting on one of the benches enjoying the view and the ducks. The small sailboats made for pretty images.

Just pull up, park your car, and walk to the sandy shore and enjoy the bay...no charge like the beaches in New England...

Spent a couple of days in the city. It has a wonderful lake frontage, beautiful sculptures and generally nice atmosphere. The shops on the Main Street were well kept and brimming with colourful clothes, art shops and cafe's. we happened to be there when there was an Art Walk. We kept seeing people walking along with empty wine glasses and... More

Nice thing I liked was the smell of campfires in the air. There were many campers and they also were able to walk across the street to the bay and enjoy the Pinestead Reef food.

Traverse City is gorgeous and it really is the cherry capital of the world. We bought them and ate them everywhere we went. Yum.

I am glad to see a State Park campground here in Traverse City. I enjoyed the camping outdoor experience in this busseling tourist town. Buy your recreation passport on your MI license renewal to support our wonderful state parks! Thanks DNR for all you do!
