We camped here for a couple of days over Fourth of July. The campground is huge! Beautiful, clean new bathrooms and close to a bike path that winds its way into downtown. The sites are a good size. I would totally camp here again.

We stayed one night but looked for another place to park the RV. Long term campers and uneven park spots were not appealing.

This was our first stop as we drove into Traverse City at sunset. My daughter was thrilled to stretch her legs and play on the playground. We returned the next day to play on the beach, which is nice and clean and large enough to hold several sunbathers. It was a beautiful sunny day, but the water was COLD --... More

I took my college roommates and we had a lot of sun and fun. Clean and with everything you need. Bathrooms. Tables. Benches. Trash receptacles and plenty of parking. The sand was clean. Great for a family too.

We visited the beach on the holiday. It was pretty busy. With having a state park pass we were waved in. There is a playground but didn't use it. My children loved playing on the beach in the sand. There was trash and recycle bins available. The restrooms were maintained. There are picnic tables and shade trees on the grass,... More

We camped here late September, the park was mostly empty. Had a nice spot in the back, there is a paved bike path you can get on and ride to town and points beyond. There are also restaurants within walking distance. The drawbacks I see are that the sites are very close together with no privacy so if it were... More

My family prefers the larger state parks with sites more spread out but we still enjoyed Traverse City State Park. I would recommend sites farther from the main road, we were happy we did since there was construction all week and the noise of the construction crew added to the normal traffic noise. The sites are quite snug and gets... More

I like the location of this park. It is close to the beach and also not far from town. There is also a bike pathway that is easily accesible from the park.

This is located directly across the street from the bay with an overhead walkway available from the park. It is extremely popular, so reservations are needed well in advance of your stay. There is a bike path that has access right from the park, allowing you to bike into town (or further) This is perfect for a family (or couple)... More

It was a great place to camp in mid June. We stayed here while traveling to the Sleeping Sandbear Dunes and Leelanau County. There was a nice walking path extending to the adventure park and to the throughout the city. The beach was right across the highway and was beautiful at night. There is a mall and plenty of restaurants... More
