The grandchildren loved that they could do the 450 ' down and back up the sand dunes..We also did the kayak 2 hour trip down the Platte River. It was awesome. From age 16-68..

Clean, neat, and easy to navigate.Lots of entertainment nearby as well as on the beach. Parking is a problem. If the city installed shuttles, it would be perfect.

It has three shower/rest room buildings and the newest is at the east end of the last loop. It has many mature trees. Ice & firewood are for sale there. It is convenient to Traverse City since it is just east out of town. There is an overhead bridge passing over US -31 to the day use beach area. During... More

Nice park with playscapes and a sandy beach to play and swim in. Kids love it here. Water is still cold though. However, it is one of our favorite beaches to visit in Traverse City.

The campground was nice. We didn't use the bathrooms though due to having an RV, so I can't comment on those. I've read complaints about it being to loud due to traffic and planes overhead but I didn't find that to be a problem. There is a nice walkway over the road that goes to the beach and bay. It... This campground is convenient and close to everything Traverse City has to offer. Bathrooms are clean and camp sites are big enough to accommodate multiple vehicles.

We stayed with 2 other couples Memorial Day weekend after they ran the Bayshore Marathon. You have to book your campsite pretty much the day the registrations open but if you can get in it is a nice place. The bathhouse is cleaned regularly and for a public camground well maintained. There is a nice pedestrian bridge that goes over... More

We have stayed here many times. The Rangers are very helpful. Firewood and ice is available at the ranger station. There are over 400 campsites. As it sits right on the main highway, M31/72, sites near the road are quite noisy. In the back, southside, it is much quieter. You do here the planes depart And land at Cherry Capitol... More
