We brought our 2 1\2 year old for the first time and he loved it. Great place to go when visiting TC in the non-summer months. There are various things to do, that for a first trip 2-3 hours is a good time frame.

As my son was young enough that a real museum is a little too boring, this place was perfect. He loved running around and climbing all over everything. We have since been to two other children's museums (GR and Norwalk, CT), and I would say that although this is smaller than the other two, this one is much more "condensed".... More

The Great Lakes Children's Museum is a great place for toddlers and preschoolers to have safe, indoor fun, get some wiggles out, and play with toys/stations that have potentially some educational output (that would really be dependent on how much the parent is involved). A smaller-than-expected building opened into a large room with various features. Our crawler had fun in... More

This is a cute little museum that helped us fill a cold snow day. It was perfect for my 4 year old and I loved the neat centers. they have a boat that the kids can put on life jackets, "start-up" and drive, a lighthouse with the keepers quarters, a great water table, amazing puppet show center, art, and an... Fun, basic interactive exhibits and activities. Small, but creative and growing. The water table is a must.

Don't tell the kids this is an educational facility - it is just chalked fun of FUN and wonderful activities. They will get some interesting facts and fun about the Great Lakes. Wonderful hands-on experience for those youngn's. I think ideal for 3-6 year olds.

I visited the Great Lakes Children's Museum with my two year old and four year old grand daughters. It was rainy and cool outside so we opted for an inside activity to spend the day with the kids. Although at first glance it seems to have a lot to do, after a closer look, several things did not work or... More

If you are expecting this museum to compare to something like the Ann Arbor Hand's On or other large children's museums, you will be disappointed. It is a great little place for toddler aged kids though. It was kind of cold and blah weather for part of our stay so we stopped in here to let our toddler burn off... More

As others have mentioned, I would not exactly call this a "museum". It is more of an indoor play area. It was a lot of fun for my 21 month old on a rainy day. The indoor slide, water table, and ship were fun. We spent about 1.5 hours there which was enough. It is perfect for young children- I... More

If you have been to Children's Museums in major cities then do not even bother wasting your money here... you will be extremely disappointed. This "museum" is nothing more then a glorified indoor playland. It is extremely small and most of the "exhibits" are non-functional. I have been taking my kids here since they were babies, mainly in the winter... More
