My girlfriend and I visited four wineries on our trip up Old Mission Peninsula: Peninsula Cellars, Chateau Grand Traverse, Brys Estate and Two Lads. Peninsula Cellars was the most laid back. Chateau Grand Traverse had the best variety of wines. Brys Estate was our favorite tasting room and Two Lads had the best view. Chateau Grand Traverse had the largest... More

$5 for 5 tastings, and then you get $5 off a bottle of wine! Great wines, and helpful and unpretentious staff.

It was an all around great experience. They were having a charity give back day to benefit a local animal rescue. Animal rescue is dear to my heart. I have adopted several rescue dogs over the years. So I welcomed the opportunity to give but this also meant tasting was free. What a kind and beautiful thing for Chateau Grand... More

I arranged a private tasting for 8 with Ann ahead of time. When we arrived, I check in and we were quickly ushered to our table on the enclosed patio. It was so nice! We were served by Ryan who was great and lots of fun! He accommodated everyone's request (with a group of 8 this can be challenging) and... More

We had a wonderful tour. They do these on the hour. The wine was ok, not Napa, but on par with the area. Great facts about the 45 parallel and wine making.

We took the drive up through Old Mission Peninsula and stopped at several of the wineries. Chateau Grand was great. Definitely recommend the drive through the area.

The place still has a bit of an assembly line to get your tasting, but I suppose with the volume they do it probably works best. The wines are much improved. The Pinot Noir is very good and the Rose is tasty. The Gamey Noir is also one of the best in the area. The Pinot Noir Vin Gris was... More

You can tell a lot about the business by the way it presents itself from the out side. the entry and building welcomes you, the tasting room is generous in size, the pour staff was knowledgeable and you felt that you received more than your monies worth. Their wines were fairly typical for the area-whatever suits your taste, mostly whites. however... More

This place has been remodeled since the last time I was here and it looks great! The staff was very cheery and helpful. The tasting is $3 for 5 tastings, but they give you a coupon for $3 off a purchase of wine. I ended up buying a Cherry Riesling and a Cherry Sangria. Overall a nice 4 stars I... More

I love this place. I have been a fan of their wines for a long time. The landscape is so beautiful. They have a lot of nice products that make great souvenirs/gifts. You cannot visit Traverse City wineries without including Chateau Grand Traverse. It will probably become one of your favorite wineries.
