This is a great place to start on Old Mission Peninsula. Offering free tours of their wine making process every day, a new patio area, and a wide selection of wine this is a good start to anyone's tour of the area. A new patio area with music on Wednesday as well as a recent renovation are new touches to... More

We were here this past weekend for wine tasting and weren't disappointed. We decided to take the tour first. We learned many interesting facts about how they make their wine. The wine tasting was fun and it was even better that our tasting fee went towards the purchase of some bottles. Our pourer helped my husband discover a wine he... More

We had tastings at several old mission vineyards today and this offered the best experience. We've learned that the key to a successful tasting is both your server, the wines and the timing of your visit. We were fortunate today with all three. We had a great server. He was friendly, educated us about each wine, accommodating our different tastes.... More

This was the first stop on a wine tasting tour of the Old Mission peninsula and it was alright. They were obviously very busy and we did have a large bachelorette group. I thought the service could have been a bit more friendlier but they did offer the best selection of wines to taste for a great price and had... More

There a many wineries on the mission bay peninsula - this one was good, and they have a large selection of wines - more than some others on the peninsula. However, there wasn't anything all that special about it. The wines were average. The view was good, but not the best we saw, and it felt much more commercialized than... More

We have gone to tastings at wineries around the country, and this one now ranks as a favorite. We do not enjoy dry wines, and this winery had plenty of semi-dry and sweeter choices to satisfy our palates. A particular favorite of mine is the cherry riesling. We ended up buying 26 bottles of various wines here! It was particularly... More

We were called up to the counter after waiting in line, as they were kind of busy. When we got to the counter it was time for the girl who called us up to get off for the day. So we had to wait to start our tasting for at least five very awkward minutes while she and the person... More

This is a very nice spot to visit and buy some excellent white wines. The whites are particularly good, very much like wines grown along the Rhine. Forget the reds. No matter how much they tell you the reds are good, be sure to try before you buy.

We always enjoy the wines from Chateau Grand Traverse. So, when we unexpectedly found ourselves in the Traverse City area last weekend, we decided to take a fast drive over to their tasting room on the Old Mission Peninsula. The visit was worthwhile, but the experience was somewhat diminished by the waiting line (see below). However, we were glad to... More
