If you are heading to see the Old Mission light house that is north of Traverse City then stop a the Chateau Chantal winery. They even have a bed and breakfast on site if you want something a bit different. They have a very nice wine tasting room which for $3 you can taste 6 wines. Save the receipt if... More

The views from this winery are superb. Gently rolling hills, vine covered, surround the pavilion. Wine tasting is aided by a wine list with the correct progression of wines. Take the tour of the winery itself and learn the history of the areas wine culture. It is also a bed and breakfast with separate theme named rooms.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed their 7 course wine-paired dinner this evening. The beginning started out iffy when we had no idea where to check in, but we were quickly greeted by Mike in the wine tasting area and told to browse for another 10 minutes before the wine tour would begin. The tour was a quick walk through... More

This was the worst winery visit I'd had I years. The person serving us clearly had no interest in us or what she was doing. Questions weren't answered, no communication was established, and no connection made with the place at all. The wines themselves were a mixed bag. Most were just so-so, a few average. Only one thing stood out... More

Hello, My apologies for the service you received during your visit with us. We strive to make sure we are all 100% "on" 100% of the time. This obviously wasn't the case during your visit. Large deck with a beautiful view for a glass of wine. I had Malbec and could not finish it. All 5 of us were in sync with our view of this wine. We did not taste here but I will be back to try out their other wines.

This winery is up there as one of my favorites. The wine was very good (I'm a Riesling kind of guy) and the ice wine was outstanding! Make sure you go outside and take pictures of the views.

I recently visited Chateau Chantal in Travers City with my wife, daughter and son in-law. This was our first visit to a Michigan winery, so we really did not know what to expect. We have been to Napa several times and without a doubt would rank this winery as one of the best we have ever been to. Rich, our... More

Great approach, to one of the nicest views in the area. Would love to try the lodging here. Lots of selections in the gift shops. Nice tasting area with friendly staff, yes there is a charge but it is credited to your purchase of wine. Beautiful, scenic outdoor area to purchase and enjoy a glass of wine while you enjoy... More

The best view on the Old Mission Peninsula, and a large selection of wines, makes this a nice stop on a tour of the peninsula. And, some of the wines are not bad, either!

Stopped by with the extended family for a tasting and saw the construction. Turns out they had just started chaarging to tastings that day! Granted, it does go toward the purchase, but one thing we liked about the place was the free tastings. We did sample (and purchase) the free preserves. The other items for purchase seemed expensive. The location... More

Hello, I beleive you were looking to leave a review for Chateau Grand Traverse, not Chateau Chantal. They make the Ship of Fools wine and have recently undergone construction. Would you mind removing this post and applying it to the correct winery? Thank you, Marie-Chantal Dalese More
