Description: Grand Traverse Distillery is Michigan’s oldest craft distillery and we are...
Grand Traverse Distillery is Michigan’s oldest craft distillery and we are family owned. We use 100% locally grown corn, wheat and rye to distill our award winning spirits which include the True North Vodkas [Rye, Wheat, Cherry, Chocolate & soon Chipotle], Gin, Rum and our Whiskies [Ole George 100% Rye, Bourbon, as well as many small batch specialty ones]. We offer 100 Proof Michigan White Dog Whiskey that is sold with mini barrels so a customer can come in make a purchase and age the whiskey at home in their own barrel. We have 5 Tasting Rooms located throughout the state in Traverse City, Frankenmuth, Leland and Grand Rapids so you can stop by and have the Grand Traverse Distillery experience and enjoy tastings and cocktails. We also have joint Tasting Rooms with Black Star Farms Winery where you will find both of our products and be able to taste and have a cocktail. Our Main Distillery Tasting Room is open Monday through Saturday 11-a.m. to 5:30-p.m. We offer tours 6 days a week in season and weekends out of season at 12, 2 and 4 pm. Cheers, Kent Rabish!

once you have toured some of the many wineries around traverse city then stopped into many of the microbreweries it time for a distillery tour. This was a simply tour, small distillery but very informative and very friendly. We truly enjoyed learning about the spirits and enjoyed drinking them as well.

Thanks for taking time to write your review! We do enjoy touring the distilling and offering tastings. Our staff is busy this time of year but we do our best to make everyone feel welcome and try to education customers on the process of what we do. Please come back and visit us again. Very knowledgeable staff. For a $5 tasting you get 3 samples. Well worth the money and you get a glass. Did the tour on last trip. Very interesting. Also, it is in an industrial complex. It easy to miss.

Hi Scott I'm glad you found us off of 3 Mile Road and yes it is easy to miss! Would like someday to find a location that is along a major road but that is not in the budget at this time. Come back again, we have new spirits coming onboard throughout the year. Cheers Kent More

My friend visits this place every year and brings me back a bottle of their cherry vodka. It is absolutely scrumptious and not "fake" tasting the way other flavored vodkas are. Paired with a good lemonade it makes the best cocktail ever. I highly recommend visiting this place AND making a purchase, or else you'll regret it later like me!

Hello Amy Thanks for taking the time to write in a reviw! I'm glad you enjoy our cherry vodka with the lemonade! We had friends over this past weekend and I mixed up a decantor of the cheery and lemonade. Cut of a few lemons to float on the top and it was perfect. Keep enjoying the cherry and we... More

My husband and I enjoyed a trip to TC recently and ventured beyond the breweries and vineyards to this gem. With all the great craft cocktails coming back, we had to try the distillery since it was so close to town. We did not take the full tour but the tasting area was sufficient to sample the vodka, whisky and... More

Hello and thanks for coming out to our distillery on 3 Mile Road! It is a little farther out and the Front Street location is easy for most people to taste our spirits but all the production is done here. Glad to hear you enjoyed the "tasty" drinks. Our staff is very good at coming up with a nice variety... More

Great little distillery. Kyle greeted us and showed us all around their operation. Sampled their whiskey and bourbon. My favorite was the Ole George Whiskey. It's worth the stop and close to town.

Hello Jason Thanks for stopping in and visiting the distillery. Kyle has been with us for a long time and knows our spirits inside and out. He does a great job and I will pass your comments along to him! Ole George is my favorite whiskey also. Enjoy the rye and the rest of the summer! Cheers Kent More

Really good tasting room in a fairly small and oddly attacdtive industrial park just south of Traverse City. i've heard of them since i began exploring bourbon a few years ago, and unfortunately this is not available out side of the state. When nmy wife put together this trip, she included this. It was pretty well ranked in Murray's Whisky... More

Hello Thanks for taking time to write your review! Here is the history on our tasting room in the distillery. When I started the distillery in 2006 100% of product went through a distributor, we could not sell anything direct so I build the distillery in a location where I did not want or expect people to find us. Two... More
