They offer several options for reasonably-priced tastings depending on your liking, or you can choose your own wines and make up a tasting. The farm is beautiful and the restaurant looked really cool, although we didn't have time to come in. Definitely a very busy, more commercial place, but we loved it anyhow.

We had a really nice time tasting wine at Black Star Farms. It was a relatively quick stop but we enjoyed ourselves. The wines were very unique and the staff was friendly.

Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay certainly lived up to all of the hype. They have wine tastings until 6pm, and a wine bar from 6-8 pm. We arrived after 6pm. The wine bar does not have tastings, but they offer flights, full and half glasses of wine, and a few small plate food options. We were pleased to find... More

No trip to Traverse City is complete without a visit to Black Star Farms. Great Location, Great Wine and Very Nice. My personal favorite is the Late Harvest Riesling. Would love to stay in their bed and breakfast sometime......Bucket List!

We had an outstanding visit to Black Star Farms. The wine was outstanding. I particularly recommend the Pinot Blanc and the Brut, but there was a really wide selection of excellent wines. The hospitality made the visit special, with a friendly and knowledgable person pouring for us. One of the best wine experiences I have had in Michigan. Highly recommended.

We went to the tasting room at BSF because we had a free tasting as guests of the inn. Their wines were probably some of our least favorite, but I am not considering that in my rating, since wine preference is so personal and what I dislike doesn't mean anything to someone else. But the experience itself wasn't great. It... More

Disappointing overall with a few delights. Setting was lovely: patio with sunshade umbrellas and the fire and pot staged for a show. Choice of a sweet Riesling or a craft orange dreamsicle rum cocktail included in the $20pp price. Both were far too sweet as premeal cocktails for us. We missed the "show" as the cook set up the boil... More

Black Star Winery was a beautiful place to visit. The wine tasting was fun with a very knowledgeable person serving us. AND you got to keep your wine glass, is a cute little glass. This place had "lots" of award winning wines & was hard to deceide which ones to sample (& buy). They also featured some other unique food... More

Black Star Farms has very good wine. We've had it before and will buy more in the future. The experience at the tasting room was a bit formulaic. What I mean is that the experience felt scripted. I know that all the vineyards have their own sales pitch, but this one felt matter-of-fact. We liked the wine, and the sales... More
