My wife and I have been to this tasting room before. As the first winery on the Old Mission Wine Trail, it is always our first stop. The ambiance is lovely and inviting. The staff friendly and knowledgable. The wines are delightful, with an array to suit any palette. We always take something home from Black Star.

I have long time been a fan of Black Star Farms and their Sur Lie Chardonnay. I have had the fortune to visit their wine tasting site in the Old Mission Peninsula of Michigan. Now I had the great opportunity to visit their property on the Leelanau Peninsula. As a member of their wine club, I was able to do... More

The setting for this winery is unlike any of the other 5 wineries we visited that day and it definitely impresses you once you drive in. They had a strong wine list and even included some spirits. The raspberry dessert wine is exquisite.

For the best overall experience in wine tasting, don't miss Blackstar Farms. This winery has it all, from large tasting room (with ample space in a separate room for large groups) to knowledgeable staff, horse farm, distillery, and overnight accommodations at the inn. My favorite wine was the Arcturos Sauvignon Blanc...dry white with a mild and pleasant finish.

This is a beautiful place to visit (enter along hill of vineyards then pass beautiful B&B), so if have limited time to visit the many wineries, definitely make time just to fit this in. Wine was good and they have other neat items such as brandy, some with full grown fruit in the bottle! If take bike ride on Leelanau... More

Absolutely gorgeous setting! Definitely worth seeing! Got to the tasting room soon after it opened. Had a wonderful server and we tried a variety of wine. We found several varieties that we just had to buy. The"ice" wine was delicous! This is a MUST stop!

This is an excellent winery. Not only are their wines very good but the staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the better wineries in the TC area and is definitely worth checking out.

Really nice sweet wines! We enjoyed the tasting and loved that you take home your glass. The server was very knowledgeable and didn't mind when we changed our mind on what we wanted to taste.
