Next stop was Our Lady of Namacapan Church, aka Santa Catalina de Alexandria Church, in Luna La Union. Unfortunately, it was closed around the time we came (noon). TIP for those church hopping and it's not during Holly Week, try to get to the churches early morning or late afternoon to see them open during mass. Nevertheless, we were able... More

Most of the church is still preserved. The bricks used. The communion rail and the pulpit is still there. 2 things you would not see in modern churches. The renovation compliments the old structure so when you look at it, it is still beautiful like the Our Lady's statue. This place is a bit far from San Fernando the capital... More

Going to the small town of Luna in the Province of La Union is one of the "perfect getaway destinations" in Northern Luzon.The former name of Luna was "Namacpacan" due to town's reputed hospitality to the visitors/travelers.
