My wife and I made a trip to Saugatuck Dunes State Park two years ago. We always wanted to bring our kids back there. Well, we just did and had a blast! We paid the $9 entrance fee and took the Livingston Trail to the beach. The hike was about a 1.5 mile walk. Our five kids (ages 10, 9,... More

This is really a good place to hang out with friends and family. I visit there with my girl friend and it's very quite and not crowded. it has a disc golf ground and beautiful wood to explore, you can hike, cycling or running here in this park. The beach is very beautiful and a lot of water spots on... More

We hiked the southern trail at Saugatuck Dunes. It was listed at 5.5 miles which was about the limit of what we wanted to hike but we chose to try it. It was an absolutely beautiful hike and seemed less than 5 and a half miles as the weather was nice and cool. But, what we did not expect was... More

There is a nice wooded hike to the beach with a lovely opening at trail's end where you come upon the water. Just travel light as it is a 2.5 mi. trail and be sure to use the Beach, or yellow, Trail.

Nice hiking trails and beautiful views of Lake Michigan. You can hike in to the lake on one trail and come back on another and walk on the beach in between. The hikes are not too long but very scenic.

Much less crowded than Oval Beach and more diversity on the shoreline. Limited parking keeps the crowds small. A five mile hiking path keeps the interest but don't forget to bring the insect repellent. Dogs are not supposed to be on the beach but this rule was not enforced very well.

Besides being fun and thrilling, we learned a great deal. Very knowledgeable driver with a delightful sense of humor. Sat in second row so we didn't get bounced around like I anticipated. Nice long ride with frequent stops for pictures, exploring, and listening to explanations. Well worth the money.

There are three 2.5 mile hikes and one 5.5 mile hikes. We did the beach hike and the sand was great at the beach and not a lot of people there. By the beach the kids hiked up a hill and found a large cement structure there and played on that, you can't see it from the beach. The hike... More
