Excellent rural museum

polite and helpful staff and the plough day is well worth a visit. The rooms take you back through the ages with lots of items donated from locals.

I love the vintage tea room. The tea pots and china cups and saucers provided as almost as nice as the excellent homemade Victoria sponge. The volunteer's at this museum are a credit to the town of ramsey!

Didn't visit the Rural Museum but certainly went to the 1940's weekend, perhaps the museum next time. The Annual forties weekend is held every august and is definitely worth a visit. People come from miles away to dress up in costume of the period and you will find them dressed as GI's. British servicemen, a sprinkling of WAAF's, Flashily dressed... More

If you are from a rural or country background, as we are, this place will transport you back in to your memories with its mass of large and small exhibits. The staff, whom are all volunteers, could not be more kind and courteous.... More

This charming little museum is packed with exhibits depicting life in the Cambridgeshire Fens over the centuries. There's a wonderful mix of farm machinery and implements, household items, and reconstructed chemist's and bootmender's shops, a schoolroom, displays dedicated to the armed forces, police and fire services, and much much more. A recently completed project is the rebuilding of Fen Cottage,... More
