The Itacoatiara beach is a beatiful beach! Swimmers, surfers and families can enjoy the water at different spots. The strip of sand isn't too short nor to big. There is food beeing selling. You can hike or walk at the Costão Rock or even go to the Prainha with the little kids. It is a beach frequented mainly by young... More

Fantastic beach very popular specially at weekends and wonderful waves for those who surf. Disliked the difficulty in car parking.

Nested among big boulders, the beach is split into two, with the western most side being more suitable for kids, whilst the Eastern bit is a surfers paradise. The scenery is absolutely beautiful at any time of the day, but particularly mesmerising in late afternoon. A piece of warning, the beauty masks one of the most treatcheorus beaches I have... More

If you plan to spend some time in Rio de Janeiro I recommend you to see this paradise. It is placed in a city nearby and only a few tourists know it. It is most visited by locals, so on sunny weekends the beach is fulfilled of beautiful people.

This is by no means a deserted beach. Locals are very aware of it and it can get crowded. Nevertheless, it's worth visiting. There's also a big rock that borders the beach that you can climb/hike to the top of (I think it takes about 45 minutes - bring shoes).

The beach is amazing! Nice dunes, surrounded by vegetation. It is a great place to meet the beautiful people of Niterói. Surfers, bodyboardders, beautiful men and women, families...you will see a great mix of people. But when the beach is empty, the natural landscape fills your soul. A beach that you must to see!

Firstly, the idiot that said it was not safe although "nothing, happened, I just had a feeling", people like you are why places have a bad name. This beach is gorgeous, surrounded by beautiful tree clad hills, the right bay area is a perfect calm spot, whilst the main beach has some tremendous waves. I highly recommend it. And I... More

It was beautiful. Great waves. Nothing happened, I was just quite sure it would be a bad idea to take out my iPhone.
