I have no doubts that it´s the Best beach in Niterói. Very calm and the landscape is fantastic. Arrive early if you want to parking in a good place. I recommend.

For me, thats the best beach in Rio/Niteroi. This beach is protected by the Brazilian Department of Environment, sometimes its flat, sometimes has big waves. Great for those who enjoy stand up paddle (when its flat) and those who enjoy surfing (when its not flat). The two other good things about this beach are: 1 - Its safer than the... More

Well worth the trip, gorgeous beach, warmish water, big waves. Good for surfing. It's a hike from Rio, first a ferry from praca xv to niteroi then a taxi.

Beautiful beach, but the waves were hitting hard on the sore. Good for surfers. There are a few kiosks (cariocas say quiochques) so bring your water / beer / snacks.

This beach is beautiful, surrounded by forest park. You can find some free dealers at the sand that offers water, coolers, black tea and sandwishs. You will not find any washers/bathroom in this beach. Unfortunately there is no structure. The neighborhood is exclusively for residences with few stores.

The most beautiful beach in Niteroi and one of the best ones of Rio de Janeiro. It`s known not only for the nature, but also for the beautiful people.

Take a break from the city and stroll along the beach. Take a dip! Come on! It's Rio! Take care to do this during daylight hours...never take those romantic beach walks in the sand after sundown in Rio. It is not safe.

I've been to Itacoatiara a couple of times and it's a nice place to visit. From Niteroi you take the 38 bus from Icarai and it takes around 45 minutes. From Rio it would take much longer so I'm not sure if I would bother if I was staying in Rio! It's a nice beach with lots of surfers. There... More
