The iconic lighthouses on the north pier in Saint Joseph have recently transferred ownership to the city of Saint Joseph. A campaign is underway to raise over $2 million to completely renovate the structures and then open them for public viewing. These lighthouses identify the pier and surrounding city to mariners from around the world.

The St Joe Lighthouse has been the subject of countless pictures taken by locals and tourists alike. It's image has made its way into many newspapers, books, maps, calendars, cookbooks and even a postage stamp. We "townies" love it! We've been looking at it for years and never tired of it! Come see it!

There are two beaches at Saint Joseph. I went there by bike. Most of time I rode bike to Silver Beach because they are closer to downtown. I went swimming there. Also I took walking from Silver Beach (county own park) to Lions Park.(city own park). There are $8 fee to park car there. There are no charge if you... More

I grew up in Benton Harbor, directly across from Saint Joseph, Michigan. People always thought I LOVED lighthouses; actually, I love one lighthouse in all the world--this one. My husband spent time with his grandparents, who lived on the beach, "down" from the lighthouse (lucky guy!).

Every time we go back to visit family we take a trip out to the pier. It is so beautiful out there! You can take some awesome photos. Gorgeous sunsets over Lake Michigan, sunrise is outstanding, anytime! When we are out there we are in awe of all the beauty around us. Beautiful sandy beach, waves, sailboats, birds, all of... More

I agree this one is a tough one to find. You also cant go inside but you can walk all the way out to both towers which is very cool. You dont get that with a lot of other lighthouses. The toughest part is finding the thing! We could not see it from the road. The only way we found... More

You can walk to the end of the north and south piers. Beautiful location for a romantic sunset. The lighthouse is going to be restored for years of enjoyment.

Family and friends in town for my sister's destination wedding walked from dinner and ice cream on Main Street to the beach, pier and lighthouse. It's a lovely walk and the sunsets are just gorgeous. Great place for family photos and for any lighthouse lover.

We first tried to get to the lighthouse via Silver Beach because a security guard there told us we could get there if we just walked down the beach. Wrong! A very nice security girl who was there to guard entrance to a concert they had there then directed us to the correct way AFTER we had all walked in... More
