We have traveled to St. Joseph every summer for the past 10 years. Every year we visit Silver Beach to enjoy the sun and fly kites, play checkers/chess at the carousel, eat at Silver Beach Pizza, enjoy the downtown shops, catch an outdoor concert and enjoy whatever festival happens to be taking place (art shows, chalk the block, antique shows).... My family had a great time visiting the lighthouses. Just make sure to keep ahold of young children because the waves do get high and there are no handrails. Worth a visit! Parking is $5 and cash or credit cards can be used.

My 10-year old son and I decided to drive from where were staying in New Buffalo up to St. Joseph to see a lighthouse! We ended up FINALLY finding the lighthouse on Tiscornia Park, which is over the bridge and across the channel from Sliver Beach. The way there is not well marked, so use a GPS with the address:... One of the most photographed lighthouses in the area if not in the country. Very picturesque. When the wind whips up the waves it becomes more stunning to view. Always you will see many photographers taking pictures....Just remember...be carefull !!!

This is a beautiful vantage point of Nature at it's best or wildest. But please respect the power of Lake Michigan! If the waves are splashing over the pier, observe the warnings and stay off the pier, especially the unvented portion. And never dive off the piers into the river or lake- strong currents and riptide are frequent and can... More

In St. Joseph they are three Lake Michigan light-houses. One in the Silver Beach park and then another set in a park located on the other side of the channel. Often the one on the other side is less crowded and much more interesting with its double lighthouse design. It is located on the north breakwater at the mouth of... More

I grew up here so I am biased, but this is my favorite place. I can't think of a place I would rather walk out into Lake Michigan. The view is really beautiful of the Lake, the coast, and of the lighthouse.

Visited the lighthouse as it was covered in ice. SPECTACULAR. The ice had a wind blown effect that was stunning. The small, quaint town of St. Joseph is a must.
