The beach, the pier, the water, the lighthouse... all of it is wonderful! I love it in the spring and summer when the sky is blue and the water is lovely with the sun reflecting on it. You can bring a chair if you'd like, and sit on the pier and read a book while you listen to the water... More

If it's a nice sunny day, nothing beats a stroll on the pier for a great views of the lighthouse and boats passing by. But if it's windy or the waves are high, be careful, the pier can be downright dangerous. None the less, this beautiful lighthouse was selected to be on a US Postage Stamp many years ago and... I enjoyed an early morning walk out to the lighthouse. I saw and spoke to several people who were serious fisherman. They were spending the day on the pier.

As a lighthouse lover, I appreciate the unique architectural design of different lighthouses and their historical significance. The St. Joseph Lighthouse is a little different because there are two lights (inner and outer pier lights). When weather permits, I would take the time to walk the pier (do be careful). We saw a number of people fishing off the pier... More

Love lighthouses, this one is a standard Michigan Lighthouse and a nice stop along the shore after shopping downtown so you can walk off the wine, cupcakes and candy!

Enjoyed walking out on the pier. In years bygone, we each spent time at the lighthouse, are beaches and enjoyed the trip.

We went on Monday Oct. 13th day was overcast and raining off and on. Will try to make the lighthouse on another day. One good thing with the weather there were few people at the lighthouse. We were able to walk out to the end of the pier and saw both lighthouses up close. They are in definite need of... More

Mid-October day was perfect for viewing and photographing lighthouses with sailboats cruising out of channel and river. This is a beautiful spot when the weather is favorable. Also can walk around the beach and surrounding area near train tracks and carousel.
