Beautiful wide beach with very nice sand and reasonable surf. The area is nice with the Silver Lake Carousel, Silver Lake Pizza and childrens museum close by. Decent restroom facilities, volleyball courts and other food options as well.

Not a fan of swimming. Love to watch the water and walk on beach in cooler weather months. This a great beach. Went on a Wed in Sept. Loved it. Beautiful beach. Stayed a short time but will definitely be back.

Silver Beach has it all. Lake Michigan is absolutely a gem. Make sure you're there at sunset--it will look like the postcards!

There is city parking that is more reasonable, but for those who have lots of gear and are going to make a day of it, parking can be ok. Volleyball nets, concession stand, public restrooms, all make this is a great outing.

The children always enjoy their time at the splash water park or the play grounds. The sunsets are spectacular, we are located in Chicago and we are happy to know this great place is just a... More

Our family hung out at the beach and saw a gorgeous sunset. Went there over a long weekend and it was surprising to see the facilities clean and not overcrowded.

We recently spent a day at Silver Beach this Labor Day weekend. We were not disappointed... only when we had to leave. They have a full concession stand, volleyball nets, adirondack chairs, picnic tables, and sugar sand. The water was refreshing and brisk. It was crowded, but it was a holiday weekend. We were able to park for $8 (out... More

I live in Chicago, and I stay away from the city beaches. They are crowded, dirty, and did I mention crowded? When I went to Silver Beach for the first time last year, it was hard to believe that it was the same Lake Michigan in Chicago. The white sand beach was clean, the water was clean, there was plenty... More
