Our family of four (two adults and two children, ages 2 and 4) had a lovely stay at North Higgins Lake State Park over the July 4th Holiday! We actually camped at the park from June 26th to July 6th, 2015. We stayed in our 22 foot travel trailer in close proximity to the restroom and bathroom facilities. A water... More

Beautiful waters and a great place for the family. If you're looking to party try South Higgins Lake state park.

My inlaws have a lake front home on Higgins Lake. It sucks when you go there with your kids and they want to swim and you have to tell them no. You pay what, 12,000 bucks in taxes a year, and end up with swimmers itch bad. It sucks, I don't go anymore.

Nice campground. Smaller and less busy than South Higgins Lake. Of you don't want it to be as crowded this is the place for your family.

I truly love this place but the swimmer's itch is a real problem. The whole family got it and I read an article that the Township Supervisor , Frank "something??" claims that the problem is not as bad this year yet everyone we talked to had family members infected. Denial of a problem does not help anything so this guy... More

North Higgins Lake State Park was a nice visit for our family to enjoy the beach and have a barbeque. The park was clean and the beach area was very nice!

We just got back from camping here. Love the park and the trails. The CCC Museum was nice to visit too with their trails. The only thing is the swimmer's itch. We do not go into the water due to this. They had signs posted on the beach and there's precautions you can take. But, I didn't really want to... More

We were at Higgins Lake on 4th of July with 8 kids and every child and adult that stepped foot in the lake got swimmers itch. It was terrible. Those poor kids were screaming and crying. It is so not worth it. I will never return to this lake. I can't believe they allow this lake to be open to... More

Really pretty wooded campground on gorgeous Higgins Lake...large spacious sites...ours backed up to busy NOISY highway...not noted when making reservation...Very crowded beach if you plan on swimming...most people don't because the lake is infected with swimmers itch...rowdy...loud trucks and motorcycles speeding around...camp rules not enforced. We were glad to leave and won't be back which is too bad . we... More

I have been going to Higgins lake for years with no problems but this year all 8 of us got swimmers itch. Not fun. I don't think I will go back in till something is done to control it. Too bad because the lake and park are beautiful.
