The Air Zoo is a fantastic family destination by any standards. It could be confused as a satellite museum for the National Air and Space Museum. I mean that in only the most glowing way possible. The fact that it is sitting quietly in Portage, MI is amazing. The museum was activities that will keep all ages engaged from Carnival... More

For the $10 general admission fee, you get a lot. The volunteers all give an impression of loving what they do, and we saw a couple of veterans acting as docents to small groups. The main museum has rides for the little ones that keep the "miracle of flight" theme. There are aircraft and rocket simulators to enjoy, plus a... More

There is something there for everyone from toddler to grandpa! They have an impressive display of aircraft and memorabilia. There are hands on activities and displays for the kids to enjoy as well as very educational models and artifacts. Four rides are available for all ages (geared toward the younger kids) as well as three simulator type rides for older... More

My husband wanted to go to see the sr71 blackbird which he was dying to see. So over the weekend we made a road trip of the museum. It was so impressive the staff was wonderful and planes everywhere. One of the things that was really nice seeing was the retired vets working at the museum as tour guides and... More

There's something for everyone at Air Zoo. From wonderful displays to hands-on exhibits and really fun rides, you would have to try really hard to not have a good time here! The staff really goes out of their way to be kind and helpful, and everything is extremely clean. The most memorable part of our trip, though, was when a... More

We decided to visit thinking it was going to rain all day. Glad we made the trip. We got in early, right around 9:30am and toured around the first part of the museum. Excellent exhibits! They have an SR-71 Black Bird on display. Incredible! The kids walked around and enjoyed the different aviation equipment (planes/rockets) but had a blast with... More

Absolutely 5 stars. You can't beat the depth and diversity of entertainment for $10. Free rides and the cleanest museum I've been to. There is a fantastic diversity of aircraft here. I've been to several air museums and I've never seen some of the displays that were here like a V-1 rocket. I can see why it has fantastic ratings,... More

We visited the Air Zoo with our twin 10 year old grandsons. We have been making rockets all summer and this was the perfect trip before they head back to school. The boys enjoyed the planes and all of the rides. They loved the simulator. Grandpa and Grandma were amazed at the quantity and quality of the planes included in... More

I was absolutely blown away by this place. I've been to the Air Force Museum at Wright Pat and the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola NAS. This is far-and-away MUCH better than the P'cola museum and, in terms of sheer number of displays, a very very VERY close second to the AF museum. When we paid the paltry $10 entry... More

It's obvious that the people who restore these antique airplanes and make them available to the public love what they do. Everyone we met, from the staff to the volunteers who introduce you to the museum, was friendly, informative and enthusiastic. We enjoyed looking at the beautifully restored planes and the other historical exhibits about space and military equipment were... More
