Great scenery, quiet and remote. Be aware of the time of year you go though the biting flies are a killer on the experience.

There is a drive down some gravel/sandy roads that can get pretty hairy at some of the hills and tight turns, but the destination was worth it. Very beautiful and very remote. The view from the light was great. It was 55, semi foggy and breezy on July 26th so include a coat in your vehicle. This area is not... More

Beautiful lighthouse with awesome views. Most impressive was the very small crowd. Not appropriate for motorcyclists due to loos dirt roads.

The veiw from the lighthouse was awesome. You can see for miles. It was cold and clear in July. It was a bit of a journey on a dirt road but worth the trip.

Yes, it's a bit of a drive to get there, but it's worth it. Keep your eyes open, and you won't miss the road signs. It's run by a volunteer group, and it was great to meet the family who was staying there the week we were there. The group has done a fantastic job restoring the lighthouse and adding... More

What a gem! we expected that whitefish point or Tahq falls would be the highlight of our day...but this blew them away! The drive was an adventure, 18 miles of hard packed sand, feeling like you'll never get there, being misled by the GPS (coordinates are N 46 45.130 W 085 15.482). As a suggestion, turn left out of Upper... More

Lots of travelers have trouble getting to this gem by the rough road, but if traveling by ATV, it's no sweat! Beautiful ride and great stop. Lighthouse has great history and offers beautiful views if you're up for the climb. There are bathrooms and a gift shop that is manned by volunteers who do it for love of the spot.... More

Don't be put off by the 18 miles of dirt road to get to this gem on Lake Superior! When we visited in June, the road was in good condition. The lighthouse has been lovingly restored by dedicated volunteers and is open to climb. The views of Lake Superior and the coastline are spectacular. Looking at the colorful rocks along... More

Wonderful location. Road is all sand with lots of roads running off the main road into the forest. Well signed going in but treacherous when it's dark. We took a run turn and got completely lost. What should have been roughly 30-40 minutes to get out took almost 2 hours. Mosquitoes were awful. Apparently at a 100 year peak. But,... More

Half the fun going to Crisp Point is the 18 mile ride down dusty dirt roads. The roads are pretty well marked with Lighthouse signs and are much better taken care of than when I 1st road back 16 years ago. Lighthouse has a gift shop now manned by volunteers. Nice quiet spot.
