I have read many negative reviews of this museum, and don't like it one bit. I have no problem if you did not like the museum; but most do but are put off by the admission price. They offer more than they used too! The museum is quite small, but it is very moving and very well presented. The EF's... more

I loved Paradise. Its my kind of place.Great people. Great scenery. But this museum is taking in money based on the Edmund Fitzgerald disaster. They have T-shirts commemorating a tragedy! Do they share the profits from their morbid knick -knacks(a refrigerator magnet depicting a ship that still might have dead bodies on it...gimme a break) with the families who suffered?(... more

Unlike the others who went to this museum I was a little less than thrilled to say the least. First the museum is basically the size of a 3 car garage, maybe four if you are feeling a little generous. There are a couple of pictures on the museums website that actually manage to show a full quarter of the... more

This was amazing. I had heard about it for years from a co-worker, but it still exceeded my expecations. It was very busy I thought, especially for a Monday, but we were able to see everything without feeling crowded. Four distinctly different buildings. The history and exhibits about the shipwrecks were very well done - my 6 year old daughter... more

At $12 per adult ($11 with AAA discount) I wasn't sure it would be worth the expense but I changed my mind by the time we were done. It is a very moving experience and there is a good deal more to see then I first thought. The complex consists of several buildings including the old lighthouse which has been... more

I've been to plenty of museums around the world that don't compare with this one for overall quality of displays. You'll have to drive more than a bit of your way to get there, and there isn't much else to do there once you arrive, but the museum itself is worth the trip. The displays are all of very high... more

My wife and I drove all the way up to see this place when we got there it was very windy and cold which we expected in the middle of may. When we arrived we saw that it cost 12 dollars per adult to visit all the museums which I think is alot of money heck with gas being 4... more

Small shipwreck museum on Whitefish Point in Paradise, MI in the Upper Peninsula. On the grounds of the lighthouse. Interesting facts and displays. I felt emotional as I looked at the remnants of ships lost and the pictures and stories of the men who died. A wonderful memorial to those who gave their lives to move the ships through the... more

Excellent museum detailing the shipwrecks that have occurred at Whitefish Point. What sets this musuem apart are the large number of artifacts that have been recovered from the shipwrecks and the explanation of each of the shipwrecks. You can also tour the coast guard rescue station and enter another building that shows an interesting film about the Edmund Fitzgerald (which... more

We visited the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum on Saturday, August 17, 2007. I must say that we were both very moved by their wonderful display of Great Lakes Maritime history. Everything connected with this Museum is a 'must see' and you can literally spend hours there going through everything. It seems almost impossible to believe what some of the ships... more
