Simply spectacular in autumn. Stunning views. Fresh, crisp air. By the time we climbed back into the car, we were pleasantly cold. So bracing! Go visit!

We paid $9.00 for our vehicle to enter to see this. It was worth every single penny! I lost count at how many times my breath was taken away by the most beautiful sights. Clean, educational and absolutely AMAZING!

The view is awesome, you can see 20+ miles from the overlook and the walk from the parking area is an easy uphill walk, but the wheelchair accessible trail is better.

Some places never look as good in person as they do in the " Chamber of Commerce" photos. Lake of the Clouds does. In fact, on a cold, foggy, drizzly Oct 4 morning, this was one of the prettiest views I've seen anywhere. Easy walk from parking lot to overlook, scenic lakeside drive to get there. Absolutely gorgeous.

The area has so many beautiful sights around every corner, it's hard to rate them. You can see for miles. Easy to get to, as well. You don not have to be an experience hiker to enjoy this vista!

OK, we stopped here twice on our trip. We did afternoon and evening. Bring binoculars. Handicap accessible. Toilets were non flush but sanitary. They didn't smell like a pit latrine. Rec passport required. We hiked down escarpment trail for about 1/4 of mile and found a cool rock to take pictures with lake beyond. There are several trails to hike... More

I wish the original reviewer had titled it Lake of the Clouds because Main Overlook is too vague. The view from here is awesome and we could see the Copper Peak Ski jump clearly even though it was 20 miles away. This is a location that people who don't hike can enjoy a beautiful view.

... to one of the nicest views in this park. Walk there and enjoy the view at 'Lake of the Clouds'! The overlook is also access to some hiking trails - so don't miss the chance to go a little of the beaten path.

Looking down on the lake being surrounded by beautiful fall color was worth the trip - a view you would never get tired of seeing. Only downfall - knowing that winter is on the way! :-)

splendid scene, Autumn colors just beginning to show, it's quite a hike up but the boardwalks and platforms are well kept and the area is clean from debris.
