Nice view

It's worth the hike and short climb to Summit peak. You get a nice view of the park from the top. I always bring a park map and compass and make plans for my next adventure.

This is a superb place for viewing fall colors. The climb to the viewing tower is made easier by stairs comprising a good portion of the climb. We actually felt there is a better view from the slightly lower observation deck(this pic was taken there). A great place to be when the colors are peaking!

Pretty any time, but would have loved to have seen it in fall color. Stairs are not bad at all and the view is panoramic once you reach the top!

Great view of the Porkies and the State park - Michigan's Version of the Smokies, or the White / Green Mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire - little bit of a hike not bad, plenty of places to take a break along the way. This coming from someone with a trick knee. Go see it !

Very good view but prepare for the mosquito and fight. They can follow you all the way to the top of the peak.

Took us about a half hour to hike to the top. There is an observation deck about halfway up that offers great views, and if you can't make it the rest of the way up you didn't miss much. We hiked to the top which included a large tower at the top of the mountain that offered amazing views similar... More

Summit Peak is accessible by a wide, well-marked trail. While the there is definitely an incline, the trail is very easy to traverse. We climbed the tower and enjoyed the spectacular view. This was one of our favorite stops because it wasn't as crowded and the trails were wide, yet felt rustic. The bathrooms utilized an interesting composting system.

Worth the trek to the tower and the climb up the tower. An unusual display of undisturbed foliage. Extra special during the Fall. We plan to go back there in late September

This is one of the best views in the park. It's not a very long hike, but it is mostly uphill. The pay off is the view from the top of the tower, you can see for miles from up there.
