Nice hike to the peak. Lots of stairs! You can see for miles from up there! Amazing Views!! Nothing to not like here!

Decided not to go all the way to Lake in the Clouds, but were glad we chose Summit Peak. There is a very nice hike going to the peak, not too long, not too short. However, be ready to climb some stairs. Not really accessible for handicap viewing. The wooded hike was gorgeous.

I actually enjoyed this more than Lake of the Clouds. But we also had better sun light that day and were able to see more of the fall foliage. Both are wonderful though.

Once it was the highest point... they found a couple of other peaks just a bit higher. The lookout tower is terrific with 360 views. I hiked the loop, about 5 miles through forests of color. Don't miss it!

A lot of uphill walking and stairs, but so worth it at the top, especially during peak color time in the fall.

This was a half mile, sometimes steep climb to the Summit. It's a good thing there are benches to rest on occasionally, but a nice view of the Porkies over the tree tops! Bring your binoculars with.

What an amazing view! The hike was exhausting - then the viewing tower - are you kidding - but the view is beautiful!

The most strenuous part of the hike is at the beginning. It goes up quickly. However, it starts to level off and then stairs and boardwalks make it easier to get to the tower. The tower is made of wood and I found it sturdy for my 285 pound frame. Great views and a cool breeze at top. Don't forget... More

We did a loop hike and went up the last half mile more as an afterthought but the view was worth the extra effort. There was fog on Lake Superior close to shore but you could see the water further out. It was clear inland and the view was excellent. I would love to be here on a clear fall... More

This is a great hike with a great view. However, you should be warned that the hike there is half a mile long and all uphill. It also includes quite a few stairs. When you get to the top of the tower, if it is hazy do not assume you cannot see the lake. It sometimes takes experience, looking closely,... More
