This place should be shut down. It operates under the guise of bear rescue but is profiting from them. The bears are fed fish guts and scraps from food store dumpsters. The spirt of the animals is broken. They are overweight and stare into the distance like broken prisoners. They look like they would welcome death. Please do not support... more

I couldn't leave! An avid animal lover myself, it was amazing to watch Dean with his bears. The love and devotion he has to keeping them safe, clean and content is seen throughout the grounds. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some quality time with the cubs...fabulous! Thank you, Dean! more

This past summer we went to Oswald's Bear Ranch and it was awesome. I plan on going back yearly and if possible a couple of times a year. I love bears and this place allows you to watch them eat, drink, play and sleep while they are in their natural habitat. I even go to go in with 2 cubs... more

We visited Oswalds Bear Ranch just outside of Newberry Michigan (in the Upper Peninsula (U.P.)) in 7/06. The cost was $10 per car. This was an awesome experience. The ranch consists of 80 acres, four separate, huge fenced areas for bears, in their natural habitat and one pen for the cubs. Hang around the cub pen for a while and... more
