Relaxing train and boat trip

Okay train ride. Did not see any wildlife other than a couple of Sand Cranes....saw them from a great distance. Very friendly staff...very clean buildings and train cars.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the train ride. It's unfortunate that the animals did not cooperate the day you rode with us. We wish there was some way of having them show up every time but since they are wild animals, that isn't possible. We do put food out for them in hopes that they will come... More

If you want to see the falls this is not the tour for you. Very very expensive...you may attend 5 attractions at Niagara Falls for less dollars. Save your money! Take the drive about 30 miles further at the State Park and the super short hike! The riverboat was very informative. The gentlemen driving was very knowledgeable and pointed out... More

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the river cruise and seeing the wildlife on the tour. It's very unfortunate that the bottom view stairway can't be used due to the danger of falling rocks. We agree that it diminishes our view of the falls. Viewing of the falls is just a small portion of the whole tour package.... More

On my U.P. vacations I always take this tour, and it is my favorite U.P. excursion. Well, I just returned home from treating myself to this fun day not once, but twice. The pace, the beauty, and the fine folks who make the tours go off smoothly all are first-rate in my book. I was fortunate that both tours I... More

This tour is very nice. Saw bears on train part of trip, and Eagles, deer and other wildlife on boat segment. The fall were nice, though the mosquitos about carried you away. Would do again with grandkids. A little pricey, but to support it, I suppose it needs that cost, Look for coupons on line, they accept them all.

Thank you for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed the tour. Sorry you felt the rates are high, but as you stated it costs a lot to run a trip of this nature. Sorry about the mosquitos they are rough right now. They should ease up soon. More

We took this trip on a beautiful day in September. The train ride is a little bumpy but we were able to see an eagle on the way to the boat and a BIG black bear on the way back. The boat ride is along the Tahquamenon River and is very peaceful. The captain knows many facts about the river... More

If you have never taken the trip, the fall season is the best.....meeting new friends on the train ride and traveling with them down the river was fantastic. The walk to the falls was peaceful even without being able to get down the second set of stairs this trip due to mother nature. Hopeing to go back again in the... More

We've taken this trip many times over the years and this year was one of the best that we've taken! The weather was perfect with warm sunshine and gentle a breeze on the river, we had a wonderful day in Northern Michigan. Just getting away from the regular day to day activities makes it all worth the price of admission.... More

Thank you for reviewing our tour. We are very happy that you enjoyed the trip. We are working with government agencies and private contractors to stabilize the rock wall adjacent to the bottom view stairway. Making it safe to repair the stairs for next season. More

This is a very beautiful trip through trees and then along the Tahquamenon River. The highlights of the trip are the scenery and the wildlife - we saw bears, deer, eagles, river otters and many turtles. The trip is pretty long, so it's probably better for adults than children but there is food available on the boat and bathrooms. The... More

We went on the Trolly/Boat trip. It was rainy and windy on the way to the boat. But we still had a good time. Captain was very informative and made the boat trip enjoyable! Very educational! On the way back on the trolly we saw a bear. Which was wonderful! People complaining in the reviews need to realize it is... More

Thank you for your wonderful comments. Yes the loss of the stairway is sad. The geologist is coming this week to see if the rock wall adjacent to the stairs is stable enough to make repairs. It may be necessary to have some of the wall removed with explosives to remove loose rocks before we can make repairs. Thank you... More

Although this is not the most exciting, comfortable ride - we thoroughly enjoyed the views and the animals we were able to spot along the ride. When the large bear decided to follow the trolley, very close to where we were sitting - we were amazed! The staff is very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable.
