Although this is not the most exciting, comfortable ride - we thoroughly enjoyed the views and the animals we were able to spot along the ride. When the large bear decided to follow the trolley, very close to where we were sitting - we were amazed! The staff is very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable.

Thank you for your review. We are so happy that the wildlife was out for your visit. Your photo of the bear is awesome. Thanks for posting it. More

We drove a hour and a half to ride the 1 3/4 hr trolley. They overbooked the seats and asked us to hold our kids "until we get further down and pick up another car". That ended up being the halfway point! We saw nothing but trees and a few birds. They said it was too windy for the bears.... More

We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the train ride. We do apologize for being that full. We were not expecting such a big turn out. Normally everyone has lots of room. Unfortunately your right about not seeing any wildlife that day. They are wild animals and even though we put out food they don't always cooperate. This time... More

This was my fifth time taking this trip in the last six years, and nowhere I go while traveling through the U.P. is better. From the time I arrive and am directed as to where to park, to going inside and getting my ticket from Dixie (and catching up with her a bit), to all of the nice people I... More

This was one area of our trip that we were looking forward to most greatly, and unfortunately we were terribly disappointed. Although the train and the boat are neat, both rides are too long and it's exhausting....literally...the exhaust from the train had many of us holding our breath. After 2.5 hours between the train and boat, finally we reached our... More

We are so very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the tour. Every effort is being made on our part to inform passengers in advance that the bottom view stairway would not be available. You stated that the guide took off ahead of you. The guides job isn't so much to guide, but to make sure everyone gets back... More

This being mine and my son's first time in the U.P., we were really excited about this attraction. We did the Trolley and Boat tour. As far as wildlife, the coolest thing we got to see was the Bald Eagles and the Osprey. The boat ride was fun fur a while, pretty scenery, but my son guy bored really quick.... More

I showed up really early and got a reservation for that day which I didn't know I needed. The lady is super nice and pointed me in the right direction for breakfast. The train ride was really neat. We seen a baby black bear. I have back issues so it is recommended to bring a blanket (which you might need... More

We are so sorry about the stairway being closed. A huge rock slide took it out just days before we opened for the season. We are working with the Department of Natural Resources and the state of Michigan to come up with a solution to this problem. We are glad you enjoyed the tour. More

This advernture is likely not for everyone -- especially those looking for something quick and touristy. But if you're inclined to take in the Upper Peninsula's back country at a leisurely pace while learning fascinating things about the area and its wildlife, this is a day well spent. As they advertise, this is a family operation. And, it is very... More

We decided to take the Toonerville Trolley on our Mackinac City vacation. It was well worth the drive. This is perfect for kids and adults, too! We enjoyed the relaxing train ride through the wilderness. The seating was arranged so that everyone had an unobstructed view. There was no guarantee that wild animals would be seen, but we saw 2... This was the biggest rip off. Due to one of their stairways being damaged, the view of the falls were nearly nonexistent. They hung a sign on their door (that I didn't even see), saying that one set of stairs were damaged, what they didn't tell us is we wouldn't be able to see the falls. We ended up driving... More

Dear Steve, I am sorry that you were not happy with the view at the falls. The bottom view stairway was hit with a rock slide just days before we opened for the season. The rock wall adjacent to the stairway is unstable and more rocks are threatening to fall making it unsafe to attempt repairs. This stairway is closed.... More

I've taken this trip four times--somehow I didn't do it on my first vacation to the U.P., but have taken it without fail on my last four visits--and it heads my must-do list. Upon arrival, there are men who direct you where to park. Then, going into the building to check in and get tickets, one is greeted by Dixie,... More
