This was the biggest rip off. Due to one of their stairways being damaged, the view of the falls were nearly nonexistent. They hung a sign on their door (that I didn't even see), saying that one set of stairs were damaged, what they didn't tell us is we wouldn't be able to see the falls. We ended up driving... More

Dear Steve, I am sorry that you were not happy with the view at the falls. The bottom view stairway was hit with a rock slide just days before we opened for the season. The rock wall adjacent to the stairway is unstable and more rocks are threatening to fall making it unsafe to attempt repairs. This stairway is closed.... More

I've taken this trip four times--somehow I didn't do it on my first vacation to the U.P., but have taken it without fail on my last four visits--and it heads my must-do list. Upon arrival, there are men who direct you where to park. Then, going into the building to check in and get tickets, one is greeted by Dixie,... More

We changed our trip plans when we found out about this tour on Mon 9/29/13. We hung out 3 days in Paradise and Tahq Park area. As to this tour, it is unique. 1/2 hr. 5 mile ride on Narrow gauge rr through UP wetland wilderness to the riverboat launch area. Bouncy train ride. Saw eagle and lots of crows... More

First of all, make sure you take bug spray! You want to spray before the train rides and before the hike through the woods. The train ride takes about a half hour and is a little rough, but there is beautiful scenery the whole way. We didn't see the bears, but we did see a bald eagle flying over! The... More

The highlight is being able to see the falls from a private viewing area. The train trip is quite rough and the exhaust smell in the first two cars on the left side is sickening. Sit further back. It's a bumpy 30 minute ride but we did see two bald eagles. The boat ride is calm and relaxing. The captain... More

We live in the UP, so we are used to thick woods and sparse swamp bogs, but we did appreciate the description of the different tree types - but many times by the time you came up to the tree you were so busy looking up the description you missed seeing any differences of those particular trees. It was very... More

As part of our U.P. vacation we wanted to see Tahquamenon Falls. But since neither my husband nor I have been there before, the Toonerville Trolley sounded like a good way to get our first exposure and show our daughter some new natural areas. The price was very reasonable. True, it's 3-figures. But that covers a half-hour (approx) train ride... More

This is a combination micro-rail train ride (5 plus miles, the longest in the USA according to the company) and a 21 mile boat ride with an optional walking excursion to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls. The location is about a dozen miles east of 123 off of 28. They have a very visible sign on 28 directing you the remaining... More

The train trip is through both open land and forest. Saw Sand Hill Cranes, an Eagle, Bears and other birds. The boat trip was delightful. Slow and smooth. Good info provided but not continuous talking. Food and drink sold were very reasonably priced. The walk to the falls is not recommened for people who have trouble walking long distance. It... More
