Like with any public beach there are both positives and some negatives. I think over all this is an excellent and fun beach experience. Here are my top positives and the negatives that I have found. POSITIVES: - Large public Lake Michigan beach - Fun walking paths up mid-sized dunes (kids and adults love them) - staircase up the dunes... More

I loved how clean this beach was...considering that it is a public beach. It was relatively uncrowded and the people were well mannered and polite. We had a great time...Only complaint was the lifeguards and the need for them to be a bit more attentive.

Although I had to pay $10 for parking, it was a nice clean beach. You cannot bring alchol or glass on the beach otherwise beach patrol takes it away. You can rent wave boards at the beach for $20/hour.

Small and costs to park $10 and will re charge if you leave and come back. Most walk there from near by. Not a beach I would chose to drive to

The beach was littered, to many bottle caps, trash and cigarette butts to count. There were so many small stones you definitely needed water shoes otherwise you would cut your feet. Go early to avoid paying for parking or walking a mile to get to the beach. Over all this is not the most "user-friendly" beach.

As a native Michigander who has been visiting the beautiful great lakes all my life, I was absolutely appalled when visiting this beach for the first time last summer. The majority of tourists are from Indiana and Illinois, which can explain why they don't respect the beaches. There was literally....trash all over the beach (as mentioned in the title); I... More

Well kept & absolutely beautiful. Only downfall is if you park in the lot it will cost you $10.00 to do so. Take chairs or a blanket, not many benches to sit on if you are wanting to stay for awhile

Very clean and taken care of. Close to town but not noisy at all. Fun place to go. Good parking, right next to the main marina. Enjoy!

It was a bit chilly when we visited, but we have been there in the summer. This beach and area is so very well maintained and inviting. It fills quickly in the summer! Short walk to the downtown area where you can do a smidge of shopping, but get a good meal!

New Buffalo is alittle over an hour from Chicago and I was amazed at how nice the beach front and Lake are! It is such a nice weekend or night away with friends or loved ones. I had no idea how many little wineries their also where in the area. It was alot of fun. The beach is very clean... More
