My 15 year old twins loved this ship/museum. They considered it the highlight of a beach weekend. The ships is almost 100% accessible and is crammed full of artifacts and history. What a resource for the average middle school and high school student! This is a do not miss kind of experience for the history buff. Be advised that it... More

This ship saw lots of service in world war II including Omaha Beach in Normandy! There are 6 decks to explore. Between decks the ladders are steep. You can see where the sailors bunked and ate their meals. On the main level there are lots of displays of local men and woman who served in different wars, also lots of... More

After going to Michigan Adventure, and Unity Christian Music Festival, this was a really nice educational experience for the kids. I was there with a total of 19 people, with kids ranging from 6 months to 10 years of age. All of the kids really enjoyed it and we got to tell them a little about World War II. I... More

There are exhibits of war toys and women of the military. Multiple models of airplanes abound. We spent about 90 minutes at the USS LST 393... More

The staff are so friendly and helpful, we did the self tour and took about 1 & 1/2 hours to look around. They have done a great job at restoring the ship and it really gives you a good idea of how it would have been to travel into WWll. The wall of local military men who had died in... More

PROS: ample parking; affordable price; entertaining 2 hour stop; interesting compartments inside the ship; the outside of the ship definitely is more photogenic than the interior; A definite must see if you have seen and been inside aircraft carriers, battleships, tankers; Be sure to see the USS Silversides as well. You can see the effort the people have placed to... More
