I did not expect to find a bit of WW II Naval history during my visit to Muskegon, MI. This local treasure is worth the $8 (adult) price of admission, and visitors are able to able to visit every level of the ship except below the tank deck. The local veterans are doing an amazing job of restoring this vessel... More

This is an actual landing craft from WWII. Museum is inside. Huge ship like a city inside. Great to learn about and can explore the ship on a self guided tour. Highly recommend.

I may never get to see Omaha Beach, but I was very honored to walk on this massive piece of US history. It is amazing to think what transpired in June 1944. So many young men aboard this landing ship, scared to death, but ready to fight! It was very somber to visit- I'm told this is one of only... More

Was driving and just came up on this. The exhibits and history was phenomenal. Great place to step back in time and learn.

The ship is overwhelming before you even learn its history. It is jam packed with artifacts, uniforms, models and static displays. The memorials are very touching and grim reminders of how young many were when they died serving our nation. The volunteers have done a great job restoring it and are all friendly and knowledgeable.

Go back in time and experience this amazing vessel! Learned so much while taking this self guided tour of a ship with so much history. Took our 13 year old son (who is very hard to entertain) and had a great experience walking through all the rooms from the huge engine room to the wheel house. Be sure to have... More

The museum has a lot to offer. Very interesting piece of history with information on what the ship has been through during it's service. You are able to explore on your own at your own pace. Even better we went back in the evening and enjoyed watching a movie on the deck!

One of only two left out of over 1000 built it is a rare piece of WWII Naval history. All decks are open for you to discover at your own pace, however if you are not mobile, the ladders and hatches could be a challenge. At $8.00 apiece the price might keep some folks from coming aboard. My only complaint... More

Our family thoroughly enjoys history and museums, so we've been to quite a few. Having said that, we've never been to anything like this. There is not a tour guide and hardly any "no entrance" signs. You are free to walk the decks and gallies of an amazing war ship - at your own pace and interest. It was beyond... More

This museum is very cool. The museum is still a work in progress, but has shaped into a memorial to World War II. Lots of rooms to explore. The ship was being repainted during our visit.
