There is a lot to see on this ship/museum. There was a wedding on the deck when we arrived but we were still allowed to tour the ship. This is great for all ages. Our 7 year old son loved it. They also have military uniforms you can put on for pics - super cute.

We toured the LST 393 while in Muskegon, Michigan last year. This was a highlight of our visit to the city. So many men risked their lives to protect ours! This warship won three Battle Stars for three World War II invasions. It was in the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, and was involved in the Normandy Invasion. So... More

Very interesting with all the artifacts and history displayed within ship. Great fun just being able to wander throughout ship getting the feel what it must have been like. What greater respect we have for the men and women who have been in the service, especially in war times.

Great place to visit. Never been on an LST before, so it was a nice experience. Large amount of displays everywhere. The older kids really enjoyed the engine rooms. Lots of ladders to climb.

Very interesting. A great glimpse in to the lives of those who fought for our freedom. There are a lot of artifacts, uniforms, static displays, and we had fun exploring the ship. From living quarters, to the galley, to the engine room, it was fun to take our time and be able to look at everything. They also show movies... More

What a way to honor our vetrans and help people understand what it was really like on those ships. I have a whole new respect for the men and women that faught for our freedoms. I We were there 4th of July weekend which made it an even better freedom celebration. I would say give yourself at least an hour... More

Four of us are traveling to France for a tour that includes Normandy, so we wanted to visit this landing craft beforehand. Fascinating and sobering displays and photos. Really enjoyed our visit. It's one of only two LSTs from Normandy still around. This was mentioned in the D-Day book "Neptune" by Craig Symonds.

My father served on an LST in the Pacific during WWII, but never told us much about his experiences. This was an opportunity for me to see part of my father's history and service to the United States. There is no way I can imagine what he truly experienced during the war, but touring this ship gave me some insight.... More

I did not expect to find a bit of WW II Naval history during my visit to Muskegon, MI. This local treasure is worth the $8 (adult) price of admission, and visitors are able to able to visit every level of the ship except below the tank deck. The local veterans are doing an amazing job of restoring this vessel... More

This is an actual landing craft from WWII. Museum is inside. Huge ship like a city inside. Great to learn about and can explore the ship on a self guided tour. Highly recommend.
