The beach is very large so lots of room. It rivals any ocean beach front. Restrooms and small food vendor building. Another restaurant near beach. Pier is an enjoyable walk and channel close so you can boat watch on nice summer days. Water is clear and refreshing for swimming. Water temps can be unpredictable. Most days refreshing but it can... Pere Marquette Park is one of the nicest beaches you could find anywhere in the world. Known for it's white sandy beaches and most picturesque sunsets, it has often been a draw for both the young and old.

The shoreline and beach is beautiful and so clean! Gorgeous sunsets and a nice pier to walk on. There are two lighthouses and one offers tours in the warmer months. Great fishing from the pier, also! A wonderful place to visit and walk the beach, or even sit in your car and watch the action/sunset. Fine sugar sand on the... More

Can't wait till all the sidewalks are cleared of beach sand. The lake is so beautiful even at this time of year. The sidewalk is a safer place to be and it was hard to maneuver still without getting off the bike and walking it through the sand.

We came in early april to view the water and lighthouses. This park has a wide sandy beach with plenty of parking and views of Lake Michigan and the lighthouses on the jetties. Although most of the ice was gone, there were remnants along sheltered parts of the lake shore and a large chunk attached to the leeward side of... More

i feel rather torn between giving this three or four stars. the thing is, i know that this place is probably stellar when you can explore ice caves in the winter or swim in the summer. it is not the park's fault that i chose to visit mid-march, and got there about an hour before sunset, and found it slightly... This is one of the most beautiful sand beaches on the lake. Lots of room for the public to use. It even includes a dog park on the beach. They've improved the restaurant and I have not gone there YET. Hopefully I'll be around this summer to try it out. Large park on north end for picnicking in the shade.... More

Most other reviewers were there for warm weather and make references to swimming and the beach. We went today to see the ice caves before they melt. The splashing water freezes into cave like formations. We didn't climb in them like some people because we had safety concerns. The lighthouse had ice that was formed from splashing waves from the...
