If you're in Muskegon County, Pere Marquette is a great beach. There's plenty of parking spread out over multiple lots, a playground, a snack shack with ice cream and other treats, and indoor bathrooms (with showers). A local kite shop offers kiteboarding lessons there, and there are a couple of vendors offering paddleboard rentals. From time to time, there are... More

Beautiful beach. Restrooms and snack food available. Also very good restaurant "The Deck" for a quick lunch. Besides just sitting by the water relaxing, there is a lighthouse you can walk out to on the pier as well as walk along the water watching boats come in and out. We were lucky enough to see a large freighter coming in... More

First time visitor to this particular beach.....my new personal favorite beach along Lake Michigan. Plenty of free parking. Clean bathrooms. Showers did not work on my recent visit

Liked the beach, easy to find and park, not overly crowded or over taken with huge groups. Nice day at the beach!

Be sure to check out Pere Marquette - a great local secret. Best sand, beautiful (shark-free) fresh water - you will love making sand castles here!

Lake Michigan is wonderful and just beautiful. This park offers long area of sandy beach with parking, tables and play areas. There is a grassy shaded area at the end near the channel. Perfect for a group picnic. Nice playground. The cleaning crew emptied the trash can nearest our group and even gave us an extra bag. There is a... More

The beach is very clean with a lot of room to move around. We liked that it wasn't very crowded, though it was a weekday--don't know what it's like on weekends. There's plenty of free parking. There's also a restaurant/bar on the beach that was pretty good--had pulled pork/ribs and sandwiches mostly on the menu. Also there's a public restroom... More

We really enjoyed the beach here. There are clean public bathrooms, a snack bar and a playground. We went 3 times during our visit to Muskegon, never had trouble finding a parking space. The North area does NOT allow dogs. There is an area on the south end that will allow them.

We loved this beach! The sand was so soft and the view was beautiful. Lots of wind surfers were out the day we were there and it was cool to watch. Not crowded at all. Quick trip from Grand Haven.
