Modra spilja (The Blue Cave), located in a small cove of Balun on the island of Biševo. The cave itself is 24 meters long, 10–12 meters deep and up to 15 meters high, while the entrance to it measures 1.5 meters high and 2.5 meters wide.In the year 1884. baron Eugene von Ransonnet described and depicted it. On his suggestion the entrance to the cave has been enlarged, making it this way accessible to the entire world. The cave has two entrances: the smaller one artificially widened and deepened so that the boat could sail through, and the wider one, located at the southern part of the cave – the underwater passage, through which the magical game of the light and water is performed…Depending on the season, the ideal moment to visit the cave is between 9 and 13 o’clock in the morning.

To go here you can either take the morning ferry around 8 AM (depends on season) for 25KN each way or go on a tour for approximately 100KN. After arriving to Bisevo, you have to buy a ticket for the Blue Cave (50KN) and wait in line. I took the boat from Komiza around 11:20, waited in line for 45... More

But I somehow expected more! There was no line, got in and out in less than 5 minutes. I personally liked the Green cave better.

We went to the blue caves when there was no one else there. It was really special to swim into the caves and just was blown away with the beautiful blue colour. Even though the blue caves was over an hour of out of our way this was one of my favourite things that we / saw in Croatia.

We did the tour from Komiza to Blue cave and Porec beach. There was a short wait for the cave but was definitely worth it! One of the best things I've ever seen... we got lucky with the boats and had the cave all to ourselves. Just wished you could stop and swim in there. The beach was also relaxing... More

The cave truly is a wonder, and well worth the long wait after getting off the boat. Don't expect a large, cavernous underground world to explore, as it is only one chamber, but it is incredibly beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable despite the large number of people and long queue.

Beautiful colorful cave with blue colours. Small entry to cave and you have to wait a lot. It s not possible to go inside by your own , local boat transfer you to cave. It s not aloud to sweem inside the cave, but it s very impressive even from boat!

The pictures don't do it justice, a must see. Busy in the summer months so had to line up in the heat but they have a good system so it wasn't that long to wait. Drop you back at your ship.
