this is a venture well worth the time. Many photo ops, and, if on water, try to visit late on a sunny day for a most beautiful view with the sun glistening off of the rocks.

Though Lake Superior has limited access along with the park service, Miners Castle provides opportunities to view the magnificent Lake Superior shoreline.

It is fun to think about what the first human (can we assume it was a native American?) thought when they came to Miners Castle for the first time, however long ago that was. Did it look like it does now? How has it changed in the thousands of years since? Were they as awed as I was, we were?... More

We viewed Castle Rock from the boating tour of the cliffs. It is a nice place for pictures and the water is gorgeous for a non-tropical location.

We saw this by boat from the water and then the next day from above and right next to it. All three were impressive. One of the major highlights of the park. No fee from land, but the cruise takes money.

The day we went was overcast and cloudy, mist hanging in the air. It only made it MORE beautiful! It was a weekday and we were happy to find it was not too crowded. Benches and tables for picnics are available. There are clean, large, accessible bathroom facilities. The small trail on the top is paved and wheelchair accessible, there... More

Visited near sunset (highly recommended as it faces west-ish). Driving there is simple enough, being off a gravel road about 5 miles off of 58 near Munising. Plenty of parking and a nice informational area with bathrooms and overlooks. Several scenic overlooks down the path starting from the visitors area which overlook the rock from multiple angles, allowing for some... More

cool. literally and figuratively. It was a warm August day when i was there and still 70 degrees with a water temp far below that. Kayaking around it is the only way to go. The water is crystal clear. Bring a GoPro to see the bottom.
