Hands down the best kayak trip I have ever taken! Our guides were amazing! The knowledge that they have of the pictured rocks was awesome. We did the all day trip which was completely worth it. Our trip was delayed for a few hours due to the waves but, we still got to go and did the entire trip. The... More

My girlfriend and I were looking for a fun adventure to somewhere we had never been before and Northern Waters Adventures did not disappoint. The entire experience was great, from the customer service to the guided tour. We kayaked the full-day trip and went through caves, under over hangs and around many different rock formations. The lunch stop was along... More

This was my gf and I's first experience kayaking together and NWA prepared us for a great day. First off, we needed to postpone our trip by a day without any problems, even though Carl warned us that the weather might turn cold and choppy the very next day. Well it did, but NWA prepared each and every participant for... More

We drove from Chicago for the weekend just so we could kayak and it was well worth it. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and simply awesome! Safety is their number 1 priority and it shows. Go and enjoy.

My family of 6 (2 adults, 4 teenage kids) did a Day Kayak Trip with Northern Waters on July 4 to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It was a large group of about 22 since it was a holiday, but there was approx. 1 guide per every 6 people on our trip. Very friendly, helpful, informative staff, equipment was clean,... More

We came up to the Upper Peninsula for a late winter/early spring visit and we knew we were going to need cross country skis and snow shoes if we were going to be able to get anywhere so thank you Karl!!! He delivered skis, boots, poles and snow shoes right to our hotel and picked up the equipment from our... More

When i first visited Pictured Rocks I hiked the trails above and realized you have to be in a boat to get the really good photos of the cliffs walls and caves. So i went down to the Oshkosh airshow but returned on the same trip for the Northern Waters Kayak tour. The price is reasonable and the staff are... More

For those of you vising Pictured Rocks, kayaking is an exciting--and relatively low impact--way to do it. Moreover, the Northern Waters staff make it all the more worthwhile. They exceedingly friendly (even offering up restaurant recommendations), but thoroughly professional. They even took time during our paddle to point out a shipwreck clearly visible beneath the surface. One key note: you... More

This is a great way to see the picture rocks. The guides are helpful and friendly and full of information about the area. They did a superb job of keeping us safe while stil letting us explore independently. They kept things moving so there was not a large span of down time between our meeting at the outfitter and getting... More

I am a first time Kayak-er and it was a great experience. The guides were very knowledgeable and patient. I highly recommend them for a great tour of the Pictured Rocks, Caves, Arch and so much more. And to get experience on a Sea Kayak. There were three of us and we all went Solo!! They also had Tandems! It... More
