Gorgeous rock formations and shore, tons of trails and sightseeing. A very long park along the water - don't underestimate how much time it takes to get from Grand Marais to Munising - the speed limit is low on the main roads through the park area.

Fantastic. What a Treasure!! The drive from Munising to Grand Marais is fantastic. It is a good paved road with many interesting places to stop. Need several days to explore thoroughly. Must do: Au Sable Lighthouse, climbing dunes, hiking to shoreline, hiking to water falls--many to choose. If you can kayak and look at the rocks. Also you can explore... More

Impressive multicolored cliffs up to 200 feet tall to the East of Munissing. Some of the beach can be accessed of of M-58, but the best way to sit the Lakeshore is by boat and we strongly recommend the tour company in down town Munisssing. Make sure you get reservations well in advance and get to the dock early as... More

The UP is not easy to get to and that's for your benefit as this untouched areas is truly spectacular. If you visit Munising, you can walk, hike or drive to the sites. But if you want an ever better experience, get on a boat and see it from the water. We toured Grand Isle and were blown away.

The boat tour is a great way to go! We went in the fall and the colors were beautiful. It was a sunny but cooler day so we bundled up and had a great afternoon.

Pictured Rocks is a great natural beauty! We explored the interior of the park during the day and took the boat cruise (fee) at sunset. It is hard to describe the colors and patterns in the cliffs. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. Great photo opportunities.

This is a must see region in the UP of Michigan. Absolutely incredible sites that you can view from the water, the beach, or hiking the cliffs themselves. There are several hiking trails with varying lengths and conditions. There are 20 waterfalls in the area. Bring a 4 wheel drive vehicle as some of the roads are unpaved and include... More
