I would've liked to take a cruise, but timing was not good (was departing at 10AM or 2PM). So I went to see the closest and quickest things to see: Munising Falls, Sand Point, Miner's Castle Overlook and Miner's Falls. The longest to reach by walking was Miner's Falls (30 minutes round trip approx). I took very nice pictures at... More

Once we located a place to put in that was actually near the Pictured Rocks, the kayaking was great. There is not a boat launch in the vicinity (it was a couple miles away), so a moderate portage from a parking area and trailhead is necessary to reach the water. Once on the shore, it was a very easy paddle... More

If you are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this is a wonderful place to spend some time. We were there on a rainy day and the views of the lakeshore cliffs were still really great. Head up to Miner's Castle (on the western side of the park) for some great views.

For those of you looking to see the natural beauty of Michigan, look no further than Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Yes, it's a bit of a hike to get up there but the colors are amazing and the views plentiful.

The trail is one of the easiest to follow that I have done. The camp sites are clearly marked with easy water access and a camp toilet. Great for first time campers. Be prepared for insects.

We loved the ferry ride that takes you right up next to the rocks. They are amazing to see. One looks like a sunken ship, one outcropping looks like a castle and one looks like a face. At the end where the ferry turns around is a fantastic waterfall!

Couldn't believe all this was in the state I lived in.. Defiantly Gods Country in the U.P. Beautiful scenery all around, the boat cruise was a great way to experience the lakeshore. Took the sunset cruise and got to see the sun set over Lake Superior.

The pictured rocks national lakeshore covers a very large expanse of area. There is a lot to do so check the website before heading out. Along the way you will find many information stations and the rangers are more than willing to help and point out attractions. Best if you like to hike and/or walk a lot. The best view... More

We took the tour out to Spray Falls, which is an added attraction beyond the usual Pictured Rocks tour. Although there was no added cost, that part wasn't worth the extra time, I don't think. However, seeing and learning about that geological/water phenomenon of the sandstone cliffs was hugely interesting. Didn't hurt to have a nice sunny day for it!
