We hiked and rode these trails on our Mountain Bikes 4 days in a row and it was absolutely beautiful! Do not miss! Intermediate riding, and easy hiking make this very family friendly and also great for any level of hikers.

The long loop was described as a "family friendly" ride that was mostly easy two-track roads. And some of it was....but it also took us onto several miles of "sugar sand" ATV trails that were virtually unrideable. The 13 miles that I thought would take about an hour or so took much longer and elicited a lot of cuss words.... More

We love the Munising area and this year we wanted to catch the fall colors. I researched these trails, as much as I could read, before my husband and I came for a biking excursion. The Hiawatha National Forest website actually gave the best description of the trails….or so I thought. I guess you must be a hard-core mountain biker... More

I would really like to keep valley spur a secret, but for sake of all, I won't. It has incredibly beautiful trails for all levels of skiers. Both skating and classic trails. The fact that it has a warm place to go into before and after is helpful. On weekends, there is homemade soup and bread. Yummy....

The 26 miles of groomed trails are among the finest in the world. When the lodge is open, it is a great warming hut and the conversation is always agreeable. Special events like Taste and Glide as well as the friendly volunteers make this a great place to stop and ski in the winter. There's a real effort on the... More

The ski trails are unmatchable for being well groomed, especially of you are a skater but it's strider friendly too. I have to put in a plug for the Friends of Valley Spur. They always have hot water for tea or hot chocolate and often a big pot of soup going for their guests. I accidentally left a pair of... More

We went cross country skiing here 2 winters ago and loved it. There is a warming house with a wooden stove and there was a pot of chili that a local ski club was selling as a fund raiser. The trails themselves range from beginner to expert and they were well groomed. The trails were well signed and felt like... More

We went biking on 2 different trails at Valley Spur. The first was a 4 mile trail that we really should have investigated better. It was meant for expert mountain bikers looking for a challenging trail, and we are NOT experts and had two kids with us! Duh! But it was absolutely beautiful! Later we went back and tried out...
