I have been to the temple twice & everytime I visited, I was thrilled equally. The temple premises are well maintained. Hire a guide to know the history behind the carvings. Well maintained gardens overlook the temple. Beautiful place. A must visit if you are in Orissa. More

I saw Konark Sun Temple when I was 14 years age. I found it gigantic and mesmerizing. Its presence has an aura and grandeur and can not be described in words. The architecture, incorporating the ancient lifestyle of 13th century is vividly portrayed by the carvings on stones. A must watch world heritage monument. More

Loved this place - the ancient architecture is mind blowing. Well worth the trip. The town itself has nothing in it except the Sun temple. A slight annoyance is the number of tourists trying to be professional photographers and having their friends strike just the right pose and taking their time with it. Other than this, it is a truly... More

Wonderful world heritage monument. The architecture is is amazing and minute carvings of stone is worth admiring. One would need atleast 2 hours to to go around the place. Since the inside of the temple is ruined and closed, one can only see from outside. The stone is carved so well like wood work. The place is open sunrise to... More

Visited the Sun temple with my parents. We're amazed at the grandness and beauty of the Temple. You have to be there to feel what it's like! You got to take a guide with you, there's a beautiful story behind the monument. More

One of the finest archaeological locations in India. This 13th Century temple is one of the few Sun temples in India and though the main temple is now in ruins there is enough left to give a strong hint of the grandeur of the past. The theme of the temple focuses on the various seasons of the year, the activities... More

A trip to Puri can not be considered as complete without a visit to the Konark Sun Temple, a massive structure on 12 wheels driven by 7 horses . The engravings on the walls resemble the erotic scriptures on the Khajuraho Temple and seemed to catch the special attention of the foreigners . But the travellers are advised not to... More

The pride of Orissa calls us: It was 630PM in the evening when we got down from the bus infront of the entrance. They charge Rs 20 per head as gate entrance. We made a conscious decision to hire a guide because of its historical legacy. The guide comes to you @ Rs 200 for a 45-60 min guided tour.... More
