The city of Ghadames is diverse as you can step back into the "old" city, which is no longer inhabited, or walk through the streets of the "new" city. There is much history to be gleaned in Ghadames! You can explore the lower passageways of the old city with its many twists and turns, or climb to the rooftop "streets"... More

We visited Ghadames with Arkno Tours a Libyan Travel Company in January 2007. After a two week tour of Libya we have come back to Libya to live and work. Ghadames is only one of many highlights in Libya. The day we visited the old city with our guide Abdalla Almofeq was a warm winters day with a delightful blue... More
