We were the only visitors at the time and had a wonderful private guided tour of this amazing house. The artefacts were a real eye opener for Marshall history. More

Usually open by appointment. Large house/mansion decorated inside and out with Hawaiian motif. Best when combined with city's Annual Historical Home Tour in September. More

I'd been to Marshall twice before to tour the neighborhoods because of the variety of architectural styles but the Honolulu House was always closed. I was travelling down I-69 so stopped in Marshall specifically because I knew the house would be open (they're open afternoons). We toured the honolulu house museum as a quick diversion on our way to Detroit ,but you could spend several hours. The home was built in 1860 by Abner Pratt the first US consulate ambassador to Hawaii . Architecture buffs will enjoy the blends of Polynesian,gothic and Italianate styles.
