Visited Honolulu House and was delighted by the docent's willingness to share her time and info. She is a Marshall native and loves the house and her job. We must have been there over an hour. The paintings on the ceiling and the walls are remarkable. If you are willing and there are small numbers of people in the house,... More

Who would ever think that they would find a historical governor's mansion decorated in Hawaiian style in south central Michigan? Yet it is in Marshall, Michigan as part of the National Historical Landmark District town. Go on the docent tour and be amazed!

After wondering the town of Marshall we stumbled across Honolulu House. The house itself is beautiful ... The interior proved interesting and did make you wonder about the original owner and his unique taste! The tour lasted about 20 minutes, the guide, she was a delightful lady! For $5, a good little piece of history!!!

Learn history of the area and house. Beautiful artwork and furnishings. It is fascinating. right across street from the Way Inn, in downtown area.

The Honolulu House in Marshall is one of the most unique old houses you will ever see. The museum is lovingly cared for by the Historical Society and there are many great stories to hear about the house. We go through it every year as part of the Historic Homes Tour and it never gets old.

The story of the builder of the home was very interesting as were the murals and antiques in all the rooms.

The Honolulu House is one of Marshall's great treasures. So much history in one building. Very well preserved and cared for. Many wedding pictures are taken on the porch and front steps. A must see when visiting Marshall.

This eccentric museum/house is a delightful and entertaining place to visit while in the Marshall area. The tour was well worth the cost. Even our youngest teen was impressed.

A truly beautiful home inside and out. It was a very interesting tour that lasted about 45-50 minutes. Standard Oil wanted to raze this home and build a gas station. Good thing they didn't. The historical society is still working on this gem.
