We were skeptical about coming here, something about junkyard art didn't sound fun. We read the reviews and decided to check it out anyway. So glad we did! Make sure you walk through, my favorite sculpture was the giant scales! My husband on one and myself on the other, I was giggling like a little kid! Also a big working... More

Fun to see the interesting sculptures! But be careful exiting out of there, make sure you make your way back to 28, we made an opps and drove down a snow mobile path with our camper in tow! Scary but survived without getting stuck;)

Today was clear and 80 degrees, so we two seniors chose to walk rather than drive the free park. We appreciated the talent, imagination, and passion expressed in Mr. Lakenen's artistic iron sculptures. When in the area again, we will definitely return with our grandchildren. We were happy to "ring the bell" at tour end.

This place is a must see! The creativity of the artist is amazing. We have been here several times and always find something new. The grounds are beautiful. It makes for a relaxing and fun time. Love that there is also a playground for the kids!

Great attraction created by a talented man in a beautiful wooded area. He takes odd pieces of scrap metal and creates funny and meaningful sculptures. The kids will love it as they pick out the characters and adults will be amazed at the creations. You can slowly drive through the woods, but to get the real effect, take a nice... More

My friends and I stopped and walked thru the rain today to explore this amazing place this man has created. It is a wonderful creative space that I honestly can't wait to bring my husband and kids to. There is a beautiful pavilion, campfire, stage along with the loop to walk to look at his work. I am humbled that... More

It's hard to miss Lakenenland when you're traveling along M-28. When you see a dinosaur that is out fishing, you know you've arrived at the right place. This little slice of Americana is what makes places like the Upper Peninsula so unique. A beautifully crafted park that is filled with the workings of Tom Lakenen, you will find yourself stopping... Lakenenland is a very cool little place along M-28 that you might just pass by because you weren't sure what it was. The owner is (was?) an Ironworker and makes really awesome pieces of art out of scrap metal. You can drive or walk through and check out all of the sculptures that are along a nice wooded trail. There... More

We had a blast. The sculptures are both humorous and thought-provoking. The park is open to anyone free of charge. We walked the dogs around the sculpture area, through the bog walk, and around the pond. We picked blueberries and took lots of hilarious photos. What a great way to spend the afternoon with friends or kids!

This place is awesome. They put a lot of work into it. Wonder around on the path and look at cool sculptures made of old junk. They also have a grill and firepit for you to use with cut wood!
