A bizarre mix of one man's artistic vision, welding skills, northern Finn working man sensibility, politics and cosmic consciousness that he has set up alongside the road along with a wetlands trail, sculpture drive in the woods, old mine, fishing pond and small concert and picnic venue. I'd love to meet this guy!

While Lakenenland is not a "vacation destination", it is a wonderful place that deserves a visit if you are within an hour or so away. Previous reviewers have done a great job of giving details about Lakenenland, but keep in mind that it is "a work in progress" as Tom is constantly adding to/improving his creation. If you have the... More

Don't pass this up, even if it's out of your way. When I went it was raining, but that's okay. I think I still saw most of it driving along the paths. Admission if free, but I was happy to donate a couple of bucks. BRING YOUR CAMERA. I only saw one bathroom (unisex) which was kind of rustic and... More

I remember visiting years ago and not being very impressed. Now there are lots of small unusual shops and good places to eat. There are many with good lake views.

About 20 minutes east of Marquette is this gem. Likely will not see something like this anywhere on the continent so it is definitely worth a stop. I like that it is a walkabout - path is not paved. The creativity is impressive. Sometimes it can be buggy though. Go see this!

I would really try to see this. It's a art park and the artist is great. You can interact with the sculptures, and it's so much fun. One of my cousins jumped on an alligator's tail and the group went wild. There were some political statements and I loved everyone of them. The artist expressed himself and you could feel... More

Our family has visited Lakenenland multiple times, most recently near the end of July, and every visit brings something new to be enjoyed. The quality, quantity and creativity of each metal sculpture never fail to amaze us. Tom, the metal-worker artist who creates each piece, welcomes each visitor to walk or drive through the acres of sculptures he has installed... More

So we didn't know quite what to expect, and my husband was leery about going, but we ended up having a blast! You enter and read signs saying it is open 24/7 except to IRS agents, zoning officials, etc. It was raining, but there is a drive thru option that we really enjoyed. There is varied art that is impressive... More

We were skeptical about coming here, something about junkyard art didn't sound fun. We read the reviews and decided to check it out anyway. So glad we did! Make sure you walk through, my favorite sculpture was the giant scales! My husband on one and myself on the other, I was giggling like a little kid! Also a big working... More

Fun to see the interesting sculptures! But be careful exiting out of there, make sure you make your way back to 28, we made an opps and drove down a snow mobile path with our camper in tow! Scary but survived without getting stuck;)
