Yes the course has great views and stay away from the walls with your ball if you can. Too many blind shots, too few landing zones and some small flat greens. Except for the view its not that much fun to play the first time, spent to much time trying to figure out where to hit the ball.

Grey walls is an amazing test of golf. The layout requires good club selection as a result of the many elevation changes. Shots in the fairway are not always rewarded with a level swing. The approach shots are most challenging here with its multi level greens. A shot to the green that misses the mark by a foot can end... More

Recently visited Greywalls for the first time since its second year of operation---fairways and greens have grown in very nicely. Beware, this is not a course for a high handicapper---the elevation changes and blind shots on several holes can be frustrating for a person's first or second round on the course. The combination of premier course conditions, spectacular topography and... More

greywalls...get it? grey walls - yes, many of the holes have grey rock walls...it's a very unique course. This is our second time playing. Very well maintained. Not for the meek or faint of heart golfer. Good layout; challenging holes; views of Lk Superior from first tee. Good Challenge. Try it - or if not, try the Heritage - the... More

Very hilly terrain and lots of blind shots.... interesting layout but a bit tricked up for my tastes. For example on 18 or 17 - a blind tee shot without much of a tip in the yardage book of a rescue club to 200 yards and then a 4 iron up the hill (2 extra clubs - one for up... More

Great course open to the public. Not cheap... but not a cow pasture either. Greywalls challenges the low handicapper and uses the lay of the land like a course should. Rugged but very well kept. Not a cheap round of golf... but delivers a U.P. experience... 5 star course anywhere in the country. There is a reason all the golf... More

8 minute ride by cart up mountain to first tee. Starter has yardage books be sure to get one. Greens rolled true and were not severely contoured. Check treeline around you for quick read of break. Front 9 definitely the best with many memorable holes. Forward tee friendly for Shirley & I played the grey tees

Greywalls came recommended by several different sites. The layout is extremely hilly with many blind shots. Large rock outcroppings are located on nearly every hole. This is a very difficult course when the wind is up, as it was when we played (and I am a 3 handicap). The course is well-marked from hole to hole but it cries out... More
