My husband and I moved to Marquette for his job. We had never been this far west in the Upper Peninsula. We were pleasantly surprised. Marquette has all the amenities needed. The big box and chain stores are pleasantly kept in the township outside the historic district. Marquette Downtown retains it's old world style but it's a vibrant. There many... More

Cool downtown with great variety of non chain stores. Best of best was "Chickadees" ...great U.P. shirts, socks, and women's clothing. Very friendly staff. Downtown store hours are not consistent and most retail not open evenings. Plenty of parking ..you just have to look for.

Ate at a nice place down town with great view of Lake Superior. Didn't stay as long as we would have like, but seemed like a very nice small town. Would be great to see in the warmer months!

There's something for everybody in historic downtown Marquette, from clothing shops, art galleries and souvenir shops to fine dining, sports bars, brew pubs, and even a world class Children's Museum. And it's all within walking distance of most of the hotels. Take a walk along Washington St. to the lake and check out historic buildings along the way, and then... More

Lots of interesting little shops and restaurants. Definitely worth an afternoon but best in the Spring, Summer or Fall. Winter is no time for a casual stroll here.

Several places downtown Marquette are worth a stop. Getz's Department store has excellent, top of the line mens's and women's clothes and shoes. Chickadees and Watson and Watson Jewelers with a stop.

We walked extensively in the downtown shopping area and up on the hill (Third Street) to explore the City. We were impressed with the diversity of shops and restaurants. It was a very hot weekend during the 2015 Blues Fest, but we covered a lot of ground. It seems to be thriving, but some places were closed Sunday or Labor... More

Strolled around downtown area, there's a few nice shops. Could use a few more local specialty shop, Getz's Department store is still the best for winter wear.

There are some very nice shops here; Scandinavian Gifts is one of my favorites with very unique items. There are others with nice clothing, decor and gifts. Parking on Washington St and also in a garage north of the street.

Interesting shops with lots of options. Beautiful pictures of upper Michigan in the day time as well as pictures of the Northern Lights at night. Restaurants out door/in door market.
