Downtown Marquette is a throwback scene, with the lake in the background, old gigantic piers, small specialty shops and numerous restaurants. It is easy to make a breakfast/browse/lunch/explore day here.

So much history in downtown Marquette and just around Marquette in general. I truly miss home. Being able to see the Northern Lights no matter where at in town you are is a big plus too.

Store owners in Marquette cannot do enough for you, such lovely people and the prices were very reasonable, I came home with a huge stak of goodies for my loved ones.

This downtown area maintains an ambience with small shops and decent restaurants. It's setting by the lake with a park just below makes it worth the visit

Never a dull moment in downtown Marquette. Very progressive authentic old town feel. Nice selection of restaurants and also some unique stores. The lakefront path is beautiful and offers an area for all types of activities. The harbor is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Plenty of free parking in the area.

If traveling through the U.P., do not miss beautiful, historic downtown Marquette, Michigan. Great restaurants and shopping, and just a block from Lake Superior

It keeps getting better. Some great restaurants including Donkers, Azteca Del Sol, L'attittudes, Stein Haus, Vierling, Landmark Inn, and several others. 3 great breweries all within walking distance (Black Rocks, Ore Dock, and Vierling). The Deft Theatre is getting a renovation as well. The waterfront and Mattson park are right downtown as well. Great bikepath which we enjoyed goes from... More

The largest town in Upper Michigan is also one of the most charming towns in the country. Set on magnificent Lake Superior, the red-stone buildings and historic downtown are perfectly maintained. Just like an old-fashioned movie set (think "It's a Wonderful Life") the main street has unique shops that can easily take a day to explore. Where else can you... More

Cute shops and great restaurants. I want to return in the summer. It was even cute in the winter when it all resembled the Artic North.
