We enjoyed our time walking around here - some cute shops, and neat stuff to see like the old iron ore dock. It seems like there was more to downtown that we missed though. Very affordable parking at $.25 an hour!

I visited the Farmer's Market while I was in town for the 2015 Michigan H.O.G. (Harley Owner's Group) Rally. They had 20-30 vendors ranging from local produce, honey, baked goods to hand-crafted clothing, jewelry and other items. If I lived in Marquette I would definitely be at this market every week to purchase fresh produce and flowers. I did purchase... More

Awesome buildings & beautiful city. Clean & attractive buildings, old & new. The pier & marina park area are so relaxing to spend the day in. We ride our bikes on the wonderful bike paths clear to Harvey then all the way to the Presque Isle Park & around NMU. It's a safe feel for a nice sized city. Great... More

I was intrigued enough by Marquette to include it in our UP itinerary. Now that I've been there, I don't think I'd go again. I didn't find the downtown to include anything beyond a few resale and fudge shops. There are a few places to eat, but what town doesn't have that? It's just a small town that happens to... More

We stayed in an apartment near downtown and were able to walk around town to the lakefront and to restaurants. The Blueberry Festival was going on while we were there - lots of merchants, arts and crafts, music - great people watching too.

The small businesses werenice and all the people working in them were friendly. There is something for everyone. It is a beautiful area that appears as though the residents take pride in.

Most of the downtown was built years ago but has been well taken care of. Small town atmosphere and extremely friendly to walk about. Many smaller tourist types of shops, just fun to go into. They have a candy and ice cream shop in the middle of town that you should probably avoid if your on any kind of diet.... More

The downtown has character. The view to the lake is nice. Stores are not only for tourists. What would winter be like?
