Attended the yearly Blueberry Festival in downtown Marquette. Was impressed with the number of vendors. Loved the music. We had a great time.

Walking around downtown Marquette is a real pleasure, especially if you're within sight of the waterfront. The streets are clean, the locals are friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of restaurants where you can get a good, reasonably priced meal.

We enjoyed the huge variety of shops. Not cooky-cutter types. Love browsing the galleries and snacking as we went along. The library is interesting to check out. Be prepared for some mild hill walking.

Victorian buildings, great restaurants, beautiful views of Lake Superior. Sled dog race in February, many weekend festivals in the downtown park by the lake in the summer, summer theater in local boat house, interesting fish store on the lake.

Downtown Marquette has always got something going on. There are multiple festivals and shopping events throughout the year to watch out for. Also, the farmer's market is on Saturdays in the summer. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby make for a fun afternoon shopping at the local stores. Donckers is one of my favorites for a nice lunch downtown.

A place once dependent on the iron ore industry is becoming more college town. New shops and restaurants, green spaces by the water.

Even if you are just driving around to see the sites....please don't miss out on taking the time to drive around this down town area. It is really pretty, the views are wonderful and the growth in this town is really something. It was a treasure we can't wait to go back and explore.
