You will spend several hours here. A rich display of the areas history. The optional lighthouse tour is worth your time.

I can't pass up a chance to marvel at a Fresnel lens, and this museum has a 2nd order one! Very interesting diorama of the life-saving efforts when the lyle gun & breeches bouy were last used, in conjunction with one of the first rescues using a helicopter. And, other well-done exhibits of the commercial fishing & shipping history in... More

A terrific museum regarding the Great Lakes history. Many relics from Great Lakes shipwrecks as you might expect. This museum would interest anyone who has lived near the great lakes states or Canada.

The younger kids had a scavenger hunt and seek and find in the museum. It was interesting looking at the displays. A local man was captain of sub in pacific and the museum had a battle display of what he did in the battle of Leyte (spelling) Gulf. There is a lighthouse tour there to take also.

There were a few interesting items, however the majority was the same as in every maritime museum. I've been to better ones. The lighthouse was very disappointing. I'm a lighthouse enthusiast and this one was not restored since it was last used in the 1970's and had very little in it. The guide was a beginner who had not done... More

Stopped by on our way home. Weather was bad so we could not take the lighthouse tour. Was able to get some nice photos though. Nice place. We will be back.

Enjoyed this tiny museum very much. We love history and the information on various aspects of maritime happenings on the Great Lakes. Well worth the time.

The staff here is top notch and will gladly help you learn about the great Marquette maritime tradition. The lighthouse tour is a must. This represents a wonderful aspect of American history that should always be preserved.

Small but packed with local artifacts including very informative film and many local photos. Be sure to take the optional lighthouse tour if available to view on-going restoration efforts.
